So I'm old and I'm often reminded of this fact, as a result I have personal experience and memories of maaaaany decades (well, mainly one and a half but that fact doesn't fit my narrative here). At least 7 things have happened in the past century so I want to know what one event, person(s), objects, song or thing you personally associated with every individual decade since 1910. It doesn't need to be major things, just whatever you personally associate with each decade, it could even be things which only affected you. You can skip out any decades where you really have no idea at all.

 

So, for example, it could be:

 

1910s - First World War

 

 

1920s - Prohibition in the US

 

 

1930s - That rather unpleasant Hitler chap (booooo!) + Second World War

 

 

1940s - Still Second World War

 

 

1950s - Rock 'n' Roll

 

 

1960s - Beatlemania

 

 

1970s - Disco

 

 

1980s - Maggie Thatcher (booo!)

 

 

1990s - The growth of computers + t'internet

 

 

2000s - September 11th + The War on Terror

 

 

2010s - Economic 'recovery'

1990s - Globalization accelerates

2000s - 9/11, Wars in Afghanistan/Iraq

2010s - The Internet / tech

I know there's more than one for some of these, but only because they're closely linked in my perception of the decade.

1960s - Height of the Civil Rights movement

1970s - Resignation of Richard Nixon over the Watergate Scandal

1980s - Rather unusual trends in Fashion Design

1990s - Boom in Technology

2000s - George W. Bush

2010s - ISIS
