Are you using your home IP in the proxy box? I'm confused here because you just said your IP, so I'm not sure if you're using your usual IP in the proxy box or not.

A proxy is an IP that is different from your home IP. It's used to make neopets think the account you're on is somewhere else in the world, and not connected to your home at all. It helps out people who have multiple accounts and do not wish to get banned for it. If you're not using your home IP in the box, I would suggest trying a different proxy. The proxy may just be having an issue with the port that's causing the issue. Usually proxies with ports of 80 and I think 3128 and possibly 8080 seem to work the best. I can't really describe what a port is, as I don't know, all I know is the numbers for them.  Some of the proxies with other port numbers (so not 80, 3128, and 8080) tend to not work very well.

This tends to be a good source for proxies. Port numbers are next to the IP address.
