I'm listening to this spotify playlist, and there are so many songs that I loved and had no idea that were from him.

When I woke up this morning and heard that, I thought I was imagining it. So very sad.... ![]()

I was pretty shocked when I heard about it at work, I didn't even know he had cancer.
The word gets bandied around too easily these days but he was a proper music legend.
The goblins will be so sad right now.
At least you had people talking about it at work. I definitely heard more about the Golden Globe awards last night than the passing of Bowie ![]()

Pretty sure even the people who win them don't care about the Golden Globes. ![]()
Me.
Me too, none of my family or friends have had cancer. Must have been difficult for so few people to have found out about his illness though, not sure how he managed that.

So sad. I didn't listen to many of his songs, but my favorite song by him was Major Tom, and his role in Labyrinth. ![]()

I can't believe he died... It makes sense that kids these days don't know who he was but he was legendary. Labyrinth is one of my favorite movies.

He's in a better world now, with Freddie Mercury.

David Bowie currently single-handedly makes up 25% of the UK Top 40 album chart, I think he'd probably have a good laugh at that. Hopefully a new generation will have the chance to appreciate his early work and lower the future chances of Justin Bieber getting a number 1...

That's pretty staggering really.

It really is. The only time I remember something like that happening off hand is when Kate Bush announced her tour a while back but she didn't have nearly as many albums as Bowie.
