This thread probably makes very little sense to most people these days. Sigh.

He was quite young to die too, just a few days ago turned 69. Fucking cancer destroying lives.

As soon as I saw this I didn't want to believe it.... :'(
I feel for his family and especially for fans like me...

My mom's a big fan (she got me into the VIP opening of his exhibition here in the Netherlands just this december), so I've been growing up with him through my mom. It's weird, because she got hundreds of condolences from friends, as if a family member died.
Either way, it's sad but not exactly unexpected (at least not for those dedicated fans who knew about the condition of his health). We knew it couldn't last forever. Sad day nonetheless ![]()

I its its amazing now that there is pretty much not 1 person I know that has not been touched in some way by a death relating to cancer.

It's my birthday today and I always say bad things happen near this day. This year was this. I'm really sad because he was a legend and influenced me musically as a kid.

I was pretty shocked when I heard about it at work, I didn't even know he had cancer.
The word gets bandied around too easily these days but he was a proper music legend.
The goblins will be so sad right now.

I started to appreciate him when a lot of my fave artists mentioned him as one of their biggest influences. So upset...

You are a liar if you say you successfully looked away from his junk a single time he came on scene in this movie.

Me.
Yeah Kim's not taking too well, it's like she lost a member of her family.
Funny, she genuinely was my first thought when I heard the news.
Who's watching Labyrinth tonight?

If I have time and can find it online, me. Because I am the babe with the power.

One of my favorite lines from Labyrinth is:
"Don't go that way, no one ever goes that way."
*goes the other way*
"She should have kept going straight on to that castle".
Someone should organize a flash mob to Magic Dance. In a very public place. With an actual infant. It would be an awesome tribute.
