The way I interpret this issue:
The ABer downloads the list at startup, thus the issue of 'quickness' shouldn't be worried about. I guess, in a way, an automatically generated list could be slower due to having out-of-date items on it (for instance in the book shop, which according to the database, still includes a few dozen retired books that have not been spotted in the shop since March of 2012). Overall, I don't think the auto-lists would be any slower - they may actually help you catch new items as Jinq eluded to.
On the other hand, there's definitely an issue with items being incorrectly priced. Outside of the high-restock items (neggs for example), most new-ish items are over-inflated due to infrequent autopricing using Neon. In my history with Abrosia, I've simply allowed Neon to autoprice the items using a large number of searches. This helps the database update the price to more accurate values. The truth is, many items that are incorrectly priced are not necessarily bought for losses (or, large losses at least). Helping out the database correct the issues helps everyone.
