Hello!

Yesterday I got a nerkmid while playing Neopets, so I got the idea to keep on refreshing the whole night. Not manually of course, but by putting something on the F5 button.

Now I tried it with Scorchio Slots. I pressed the F5 button for about 2 minutes, and I had 3k np less (= about 3000/5 = 600 Scorchy Slots plays). When I released F5, my Neopet was bored of the game. So, if you put something on the F5 button, it works. I also had a codestone in my inventory, I must got it with a RE.

So, last hour, I putted something on the F5 button, so it refreshed for one hour, many times per minute. But this time I got nothing. No Neopet stat change, no item, no NP change, no faerie quest. I went to another account and tried it again with scorchy slots, and now I also had some NP less, so refreshing worked again, and I got an item which I must have got with a RE. After this, I refreshed one hour at the other account, and again I got nothing extra.

That's strange. Could it be that you can only get 1 RE at the same page, untill you go to another page?
Are here more people who have tried this? And what worked for you, and what didn't work?

Hope to hear of you :)

Sorry if my grammar is bad, but I'm not English. :p

Putting something on your F5 button is a very easy way to get frozen, they keep track of that kind of thing.

Yep. Back in the day, like 2005, it was really common for people to run spider programs to browse the site to get REs to avoid being iced for spamming refresh.

Hmm okay, I thought it was allowed, as long as it was your finger that keeps on pressing the F5 button. (So, that would mean it's allowed, because TNT can't know if it's your finger or something else)

But thanks for the info! I'm afraid the Spider refreshers doesn't work anymore, or can also result in freezing now? :p

I don't know of any working spider browsing programs.

But there are more efficient ways to cheat and earn neopoints, such as autobuying.

Even refreshing manually is probably going to get you frozen now because they're paying much more attention to people refreshing a lot due to the server issues. You're better off using programs because many of them essentially act as a refresher anyway (because they visit pages so you could still get random events) while also looking legit because you're actually doing something productive whether that's restocking, pricing your shop, playing games etc.

This is not a good idea. How @Coops says... There are others methods more efficientes to get NP. The most part of the programs using refresh pages. More refresh pages = no-human process. For this reason, the best programs do his job and refresh the page as little as possible.

Hahaha yeah, me too. Though not necessary every day, but I do get random items / faerie quests after a day of using bots or soo.

I remember suggesting a program that browses the site for random events (especially for faerie quests in my case) but people here said it was useless hahaha

Although there are better ways to earn neopoints (as commented before) I'm curious about this 1 RE in the same page as well. I might test this later if I have time.

I remember something like this back in one of their editorials years ago

They said at the time manually refreshing with your own fingers is fine

Putting something on the refresh key is not

But that was than, this is now

I use atm Valor suit alot, I end up with random items, random faerie quests, random neopoints too. I personally think a program that just refreshes would be dangerous but hey..

Refreshing on one page is pretty much only good for neomail avatar, getting petpetpets to attach and ummm I think drackonack avatar. RE's you can get by ABing and running bots for phtml games (eg neoquest), so you may as well be doing something productive while getting RE's.

I downloaded a tab refresher that let's me set a time range for refreshing. I was trying to get the refresh avvies over night. I did this for a week. I set the refresh for each minute. I didn't get frozen, but for a week, I made 75k while sleeping. So that was nice. I didn't pay attention to whether I got items or not though! There are still two refresh avvies I haven't gotten, and the "search for blah blah blah" avvies aren't working for me on firefox.

non flash games are a good way to get REs/items if you aren't ABing on a certain account. i run programs/GM scripts for dice a roo, scorchy slots, pyramids, etc. and always end up with extra items and quests. much safer than pure refreshing.

I used a Chrome auto refresher extension to get refresh avvies and haven't gotten frozen.

I also used an auto refresher for most refresh avatars. I don't think TNT will freeze you for keeping your finger on F5 key but I think this method is safer.

Using them for the refresh avatars is different on the grounds that you're more than likely only going to do it until you get the avatar and then never do it again. Back in the day we had refresher for the random events, but even then unless you were extremely lucky they weren't really useful.

That's why I think keeping an auto refreshing on the same page for hours would get you frozen. However, a program that browses through the site (even if it's random) probably won't have problems.

I don't think an auto refreshing on the same page would get you frozen. I remember I used to leave the Haunted Woods page refreshing overnight for me to get the Halloween theme on 31st Oct. Just don't refresh every second.

I use an extension on chrome that allows you randomize the refresh rates. I've had a lot of luck with it on 5+ accounts and none have been frozen yet...

If you randomize the refresh rates i don't see problem. But, how i said... If you use always the same page and same time i don't think that could be good idea.

Yeah in this case it's probably ok, I was talking about doing it every second and for many days, in the same page.
