Ah, if I reply to this, is it considered spam or a proper rebuttal? I am reaching inception levels of confused here.

From what my friends have said, it can be. One takes a week off work every July for the cup, and plays all day on her time off, and up to 7 hours on days she works, but she feels really proud of what she achieves. I imagine it's like how I felt the year I completed nanowrimo during exam period. Was hoping to get the same feeling from AC, but it's not going to be as much of an accomplishment if they have lowered it too much (and it's pushing me towards considering SSing more than beforehand

 

The problem with this is, though, that they're really not evening the playing field, since people cheat on multiple accounts, not just on the one. Though I suppose JS sees that it's better than nothing (which it probably is). 

It is evening the playing field a little bit. More people should reach the cap each day, which will start to counteract what the cheaters do since even they're limited by the cap.

That was what I was trying to get at. It theoretically evens the playing field between single accounts, but not really if someone is using a couple of shells. That said, I suppose it's better than nothing, since it might get people to shut up about teh eeeeevil cheatahs for a while, and it shows that JS aren't just phoning it in.

All of you used all you altador cup points last year? 

Yup, I used mine to purchase a lot of those leftover snacks because I've been feeling stingy about spending my NP, more than one Faerie Eyrie MPs (since Eyries are my favorite species) and stamps.

Seems about right in their logic. It's very tough to play legit with a full time job/school so I can see their point of view - trying to even playing field.

 

Definitely sucks for those legit players that have the time, it must be a pretty rewarding experience at the end for them with higher caps & great scores/prizes.

 

Last year, I played legit and got to All-Star like two weeks before the AC ended. Sure, I unnecessarily sacrificed some time with real people, but it was totally worth it getting that gold badge.

The last day of sign ups I may open the forum to the public, but I will have to discuss it with the rest of staff and @Futurama and the others who are helping with Team Codex to see if it's in our best interest.
