Hello new neocodex friends,

I'm a longtime fan of Neopets (playing 17+ years now) and a 99% legit player (the 1% was when there was a new and quite expensive petpet my neopet literally just had to have … I bought neopoints to get it for her); who recently went through some events which really changed the way I view Neopets and is seriously considering - well, cheating at Neopets to have less grind and get neo-riches and nicer virtual things. Before I do that, I want to learn more as I would like to keep my real main on my home IP as safe as possible.

Five Fast Facts

- You might guess this by my name – I am a HUGE animal lover, although felines will always be my favorites.

- I have many pet kougras cats, and also care for a feral cat colony in the woods behind our home

- I used to work at a spay/neuter clinic for cats & dogs. The pay was poor, the department supervisor was a huge jerk, but helping those pets and their owners was still the best job in the whole entire world. I never thought I would miss working, but honestly … I really do miss it.

- I used to LOVE playing Keyquest, some of my happiest neo times were playing KQ with my hubby and my guild pals. Now keyquest is gone, guild is gone, most guldmates quit Neo / went 'on hiatus'. So a lot of what made me love to play Neo for hours on end went away when they removed Keyquest, but I never could stay away for long.

- Happily married to a great guy, who stopped playing neo when he was (unfairly) frozen. He hasn't got a reply on any of his tickets in over a year and a half. :(

I've been lurking here the past few days, reading all I can on the boards to educate myself. The whole proxy/VPN thing still has my head spinning, and I'm afraid I don't understand it well. But I will keep reading, and hopefully it will become clear in time.

Apologies in advance that I'll probably ask newb questions about how TOR/proxy/VPNs work. (what's the best area to post those kind of questions in?)

Looking forward to chatting with you all. :)

Welcome! You might benefit from our guide directory, which contains all of the guides we have here;

As for VPN questions:

I'd say the program discussion forum might be best

Thank you all for the warm welcome! :)

Thank you KaibaSama for the links.
I'd found an older list of guides, so I appreciate your updated list.
I'll be looking through the program discussion forum too. I finally found a free VPN I like that will run on our older computers, so I'm trying it out this weekend to see if I like it enough to subscribe, or if I should keep looking. I'm finding out how quickly your bandwidth gets used up though - so I will probably need to subscribe to a good VPN service soon.

Cheers all!

Hya Buffout, nice to meet you!

I adore all cats, but if I had to pick a "dreamie" real-world breed it would be either a British Shorthair for their awesome purrsonalities, or a Scottish Fold for their adorable ears.

One of our cats came to us as a kitten that I rescued from outside an apartment complex. A woman called the rescue I volunteer at and was complaining about an "abandoned kitten dying in her yard" SMH We went over to pick the kitten up (she couldn't even be bothered to bring it to the rescue!), and he was in pretty bad shape. We looked all around but there was no momcat or littermates anywhere to be found, just a lone kitten - very strange.

We took him home and bottle fed him for the first two weeks. Once he started getting regular food and care, he just bloomed. The little guy turned out to be nearly the same age as another kitten we were caring for, and they bonded together.

Long story short, they couldn't be separated and they both that ended up staying with us instead of being adopted out.

The little guy that we found is now nearly 14 lbs, and I believe is either part or full British Shorthair. He has the classic facial structure of the breed, and that wonderful purrsonality too. :)

Do you have any pets?
