Turning Neopets' fate round, how would you do it?

Imagine owning Neopets and having the same limited resources as whoever owns it now, how would you make Neopets a thriving game again? Would it even still be possible or has it become too out-dated and beyond saving? Thoughts?

Here's just a few of my thoughts:

Make a plot that doesn't involve NC, like at all. You shouldn't need NC to unlock additional resources or items in the plot. In addition the plot(s) should -really- be focused around the battledome like they used to be. Everyone worth a damn remembers the Meridell vs uh...the floating purple castle place.

I think I just really hate NC because when NC came out is when I started to dislike the game -- get rid of NC all together!

*Fix currently broken site areas/games (AAA, IoM, BD, etc)

*Release more avatars of varying difficulty on a decent-ish schedule

*Upgrade games/site areas from flash since it's 2019...

*Upgrade Shockwave games too

The ad revenue they get should easily pay for some small fixes which would then in turn lead to increases in foot traffic which then would lead to more ad revenue which would then lead to more money to spend on other fixes and plots.

Ride the ripple TNT you know you can do it.

This is what TNT is currently trying to do and do to a budget.  It might work it might not, the main problem is the owners are going to want to see profit and what should happen is running it as a non profit for the first 3 years and invest in the site.

Add a major gambling game with an emotional and exclusive pay off.

Make neopets a less subtle casino.

Honestly, it really needs a complete site revamp. I play a game called Flight Rising these days, and the difference is night and day - Neopets feels patchwork (which, to be fair, it is). You can really feel the cohesive vision in games like FR. I'd say start with the main map, work your way down - get rid of all the outdated art, all the kitchy flash content, and 100% of things that move. Then purge the games - all the shockwave stuff, all the less-popular stuff, get rid of like 60% of it and polish the rest. Work out a less absurd system for commerce - I've managed to buy like 3 things legit in years of playing, it's so hard to restock legit unless you want to do that only. Make it so common stuff is COMMON, even if that means making it so every shop has 5-10 permanently in stock items, to make the stores more accessible to newer or more casual players.

Fix the economy. My god.

And really, 30-40 GOOD GAMES, presented in an accessable way. Not this digging-thru-crap thing we've got now.

Also, the battledome. Make it more approachable. Add it to the set of stuff you do starting an account. Make something about it a daily, to encourage regular use.

I have lots of feelings on this, if you can tell.

Do like Jagex and offer an Old School Neopets version of the site; reverting back to when there was no NC and there was no "conversion" of pets.

Obviously they would still have to do something about all the Flash-based content, perhaps convert all the Flash games into HTML5.

All the world maps could use the old JPGs, until they could upgrade those to HTML5 as well.

Then any major changes to the game save for new content should be voted in by user polls.

Ideally the site should also be responsive and work on any screen size and device as well, but at the very least they would need a mobile app.

Also, revamp their terrible customer service...

Bringing the Battledome back into site events would be great too.

They need to do quite a lot honestly,

1. Fix the battledome, this has been what 2 or 3 years with nothing done to it? This is what keeps your older crowd, a lot of us like to battle and get rewards, training takes a long time and a lot of NP.

2. Less restrictions on certain things, Like faerie jobs, restock bans, battledome rewards. Hard to keep your player base logged on when you can only do so much during the day, before your capped.

3. More battledome plots, these were the most fun to a lot of people.

4. Quit with the NC Mall, customizing pets should be a part of the site yes, but not the only part of it.

5. FIX THE BATTLEDOME.

I could go on an on, but these are my biggest points.

I don't think only new games attract people. They can bring back old users who may have left if they improve things. And if they bring everything more up to speed with more modern games, (such as no more shockwave or flash games), and add new features, they might be able to draw in new players as well.

They need to do something quick about flash, since chrome is discounting its usage in december.

I think it will be a great success if they put whole neopets' system into a mobile app, but seems like that is a huge project which requires a lot of money and they cant afford.

It's odd because they already have two mobile apps. That ghost hunter candy crush type game and the new Legends and Letters which is pretty recent. They also have a mobile homepage already too. I'm unsure of why they don't seem to be putting more effort into those.

I'm amazed Neopets doesn't have an app for phone users (so many young people don't even own a computer these days). The mobile version of the site is unplayable in my experience. An official app would be vital for Neopets to stay relevant.

Also, I've always wondered how they even gain new members. Do they advertise the site at all or do they still just rely on their history and reputation of the mid 2000s? We all know how huge Neo was back in the day, but very few people under 18 would be aware of its existence.

It's sad because I get very nostalgic about Neo, as it was one of the  very first websites I used regularly when I first got the Internet. I would hate to see it disappear.

I would do a lot of what Subeta does. All the rules uggghhhh just let it go, bros D:

Honestly, that and I would work on an actual mobile app. So many useless websites have mobile apps, Neo is probably too afraid to try a REAL mobile app. Idk.

Rehire the UC graphics producers and let them rerelease every UC and more types of them.

Also fix the BD and actually bring it back like the old format.

I don't think it has to do with player involvement/fan favorites like Key Quest. To reinvigorate interest they'd need to A) revamp the website entirely & B) Become a meme so people play. Not kidding.

It all comes down to money if they are willing to spend the money then they could easily fix any issues with the site.

A total rewritting of the code would needed to be done but again with money that would not be to hard.  The problem I see is how much profit does the site actualy make them these days probably not a great deal so it would take investment and not many companies would do this with how online gaming has changed.
