The signature size li'mits have finally been normalized! Here are the new guidelines:
  • Only one signature I'mage per sig
  • Max. I'mage size: 500x200
  • Max. amount of text: 5 lines [reasonable font sizes, please]
  • No quote/code boxes
These are only the guidelines - we won't mind if your sig is a bit off from these, but having 2 signatures/loads of text/huge text font *pokes cataliste* won't be tolerated...
Big signatures not only requires a high speed connection and a lot of bandwidth, but can be plain annoying when someone's sig takes up half of your screen...

To everyone with non-compliant sigs: you have 48 hours from now on [11:36PM GMT+1] to edit your signatures. If you don't, action will be taken.

NOTE: We are not going to warn for violations of these, except for a few very rare cases, so don't worry :)

I hate it when someone's sig takes your entire screen up. It's gay. Nice rules though, should be helping those with dialup.

It was the same as the other one except for having a different mumber (2 instead of 3 or in reverse) :o

Out of interest why can't we have quote boxes?

View Post

Because the EVIL quote boxes are BIG... even if they have little text in them ;)

You're pushing your luck...

And it's not the problem of OUR bandwidth but the members' bandwidth...

Pushing my luck? OOOOOOOOO, so scared.

I never said codex's bandwith, I just said to turn the sigs off if you dont like them. It's really not a big fuss.

Lol. You have two sigs yourself. But anyway... I can't make sigs, so I really can't complain about putting effort into making them and then not being able to use them, which is what I assume this whole disbecausesion is about.

I HAD to use dialup for about 2 months (dsl-->dsl transition.... argh), so I know how it incredibly sucks... and loading all these I'mages takes ti'me, and in many countries you pay for dialup for ti'me spent (quite a lot, too) :p

And for those that want something else beside a signature I'mage in their sig: just align it to the right of your current sig so it doesn't take up the vertical space...
