Here's the first sig I made.  Just got through with it.  I know there are some easy filters on it, but I made it for me...and I'm not picky.  lol. :nana:

not bad for a first, maybe bledn the bird a bit, copy the bird layer, then maybe add some blur

(I can't see pic, at school, I'll comment later)

Blending can be done in a number of ways. Lowering opacity, playing with blend modes (in layers palet), feather, etc. Go to good-tutorials.com and look to see a blend... or I'll write a more detailed tutorial later.

    1. Size: Next time, try 350x130 or so... that's a nice size for a sig... ^^
    2. the pic you put in there doesn't fit at all... lol you didn't cut it out very well... ya. Go to gamerenders.com and get some cool looking pics for sigs from there. ;-) Already cut and everything.
    3. Looks like you have a border, but make sure next time you also have a 1 px black border... should go on everything.

that's it for now. Good job for your starting sig and don't worry, it'll  get better... read some tutorials.

Lowering opac doesn't substitute for blending. I use a grunge brush in eraser mode. (Go to eraser > Brush for the mode) Erase around the edges in 30-50% opacity. The render is a bit choppy, you might want to find better renders for future sigs. The text is basic, go to www.good-tutorials.com for some text tutorials. Never bevel the sig itself. Other than that, good for a 1st sig. ^_^

I didn't mean to ridicule you... I just didn't want him to start out thinking that blending was lowering opacity. :p

I was just saying some basic ways... lowering opacity, playing with blend modes, and feathering seem like more beginner ways of starting to blend. Also changing color... then the more advanced would be like a grunge brush erase, but don't want to overwelm him. ;-)
