Well I was just doing nothing on firefox and all of a sudden it started lagging n stuff the I closed it.  When I tried to open it again it said the default user was already using forefox and so I made a new user.  When I went back into firefox everything was gone all my bookmarks and passwords and everything.  Is there anyway to change back users?

if your using xp look under document seting, I think local setting or Apps setting and in mizlla and then fifox or something it SHOULD be under there, but if you ever get that just close the browser and reopen or Hit Cancel then you should be fine

C:\Documents and Settings\Steven.THERIGISREBORN\Local Settings\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles
ok replace my name with your. and there the profiles. I recommand clicking them BOTh and then deleting the smaller folder and closing Firefox and then reboot. that SHOULD solve your problem

Happens occasionaly. When that happened you didnt close firefox down completely. YOu needed to press CTRL+ALT+Delete and end process FireFox.exe

There's another instance of FireFox open, just close it.

To convert back you need to crash firefox again. Start up and it should ask you.

ummm....what? lol

K, heres how to have multiple profiles on firefox, so u can have 2 people, with different bookmarks, cookies, etc smile.gif Enjoy

First, click on your existing firefox desktop icon and create a second desktop icon from it and name it "Profile Manager."

Then, open that icon and click on "properties>Shortcut tab>"Target" field. In the target field, make the path read like this: "C:\Program Files\firefox\firefox.exe" -p (So long, of course, that you have saved it to your C drive. Really, just add the -p to the end of whatever is in the target box.)

It's the p switch that brings up the profile manager. Now click Apply>OK>launch Firefox>follow Profile Manager prompts.

Now, this is very important: Make sure that firefox is not running in the task manager, sometimes, the first time, it does not shut down completely. (which is part of the problem that forced you to create a new profile.) What I had to do was to close it using the task manager to make sure it was completely closed, the very first time I tried this.

Anytime you click on that desktop icon, with all FF browsers closed, you will get a profile manager dialog box. You should get a box showing the existing profiles and some options to modify them.

Using this profile manager should allow you to get back to your default browser.

Jesse

anyways I found this post on gamerenders but I tried to add the -p but it didnt work.  Does anyone know what it means? <-----is noob
