Mp3 players and xbox360s were the hot items on top of everyones Christmas list this year. Ipod videos and nanos were sold out in most places and xbox360s...well if you wait outside in a line for 6 hours just to pick up one of the store's 50 xbox360 premium packages...you get the point. Anyway, while people were fighting to get an ipod for their child, loved one, etc., any other brand of mp3 players were up for grab. This includes Creative Zens. At the price of $200, a 5gig Zen Mirco beats a 2gig nano in many aspects. Though flash memory (ipod nano) prevents things from moving inside your mp3 player, flash only gets so many writes and rewrites before preventing you from syncing anything else on it, while a hard drive (zen mirco) gets much more writes and rewrites (don't want to say unlimited; it's not proven). A Zen Micro is much tougher; ipods tend to be scratchable. The battery is the main reason why zens are so much better than ipods. On all Zens, batterys tand to not wear out for a very long time, and even when it does, you can easily replace it by opening up the back cover. Ipods tend to wear out after 3-6 months of listening and replacing the battery requires you to send it to Apple and having it replaced there -- this can cost a lot of money and it might take a while for you to get it back. And so what if the nano get's a color screen? What difference does it make? Many of you don't want it for pictures anyway. It doesn't make it any better than a Zen. Zen gets a blue light (here [beware 56k], but it doesn't really make a difference, like I said). So go do yourself a favor and break off the ipod trend and get yourself a Zen -- it's gonna be far better in the longrun.

Ipod Nano, because they're easier to break.

Extremely false within the battery part on the iPod.

I let you know my iPod lasted 12 months before the battery started to disintergrate ^_^

I would never have a Zen, theyre just overall shit. And you was only comparing to a CENSOREDin iPod Nano, you should involve the iPod video which comes with a hard drive, the iPod mini came with a hard drive!!

I dont see why we should all buy a Zen based on your opinions. Apple are far better than Creative in design wise and building wise, ok so they had problems when they first released the Nano, but they will rectify these problems within time.

So I suggest to stop bashing the flaming iPod because you never got one, your jealous of other people having one when all you got is a Zen Micro.

I suggest that neither of you worry about each others opinion if you disagree, and get the one that suits you. As for the ipod nano, people may want it because they use it as an icon or status symbol of how cool they are

I suggest if you're accident prone not to get the Nano as it does easily scratch and break and if you DO get one, get the case.

Nano....psp? They were not meant to hold 500+ songs... If you want them to hold 500+ songs, yould have to buya 1gb memory stick duo (about 100?) the system (about 350?)....thats 450...

*Shrug*, iPod is more of a fashion statement player to me :p
Mind you, I dont like iPod but I wont shoot down its credentials and it is a good player.
I hate the nano though. Ive seen it and I dont like it.
Zen Micro is just as bad though. The build is so uh poorly built that if you buy it, your battery will run out in a month or your player will break.
Its gotten to the point where even though I hate iPod, Id have to say Nano>Micro which is a hard thing for me to swallow.

Her battery must be damaged or she hasn't charged it up enough since I've had mine going for two days straight.

It all depends on the look you are looking for. If you want shiny black/white then go with iPod :)
