How about a Shiny Member Status to improve upon the boring red "neocodex" status.

Let me explain.

Neocodex member status --> Shiny Member Status.
1 Level up above Neocodex member status. Does not overide anything else.

Requirements: 1 Month at Neocodex
500 posts Mininum

Color: Teal, Sapphire...Or RUBY!!!

:D This is such a great Idea to raise activiness among new members :)

Important Edit

How about this

The Idea I suggested with a better name.
No special areas.
Just the pride and new bar. Thats all I ask now.

:) That's a good idea actually.
It'll seporate the posters and active members from the
inactive ones , instead of just throwing them all in one pile.

It won't affect privates or anything.

Mods should really take this up. :)

Whats the point of Private member status? to show you're trustworthy.

Whats the point of shiny member status? To show you're active.

Exactly!

-And you could be in both I guess.
Like the GFX team , Private member and shiny member. :p

So to apply for private you must be at least a shiny member , instead
of posting a maximum of posts.

I'll PM a mod or something so they can take a looksie. :)

I think it would just inrease the amount of spam we have, actually. People will be like "Omg I have to get that shiny status bar :o" and do a bunch of "Yah, lol" posts. :( Maybe not though, we won't know unless we try.

And I'd take the responsibility of being Shiny Member leader if I got the chance :)

Admins/Mods This is the topic for you :)

It would be wierd to be a Shiny Member, a Private Member, a GFX Member, and a Programmer. Wonder how they would do permissions on that. lol

Well Sorry, but there would not be any "programs" In for them. It'd just be a waste of their time if they dont really care about the community. They'd just get a more clean general chat to support them in their career for private. Sort of like a preview. It doesnt even hurt to try the idea, and this is the best idea I thought up of all month :( So please..

Shiny Member Permissions

Access to Shiny Member Chat.
And as I said I could be the leader if chosen to handle it :)

I didn't say we should throw the idea out, I think we should try it and see what happens. ;) It could end up being a good thing, or it could end up being a bad thing.

I PMed SL with the link to this thread. :)

We should give it a try.

-And is SL sees this the same way we do , you should really
be the Shiny Member Leader , Radiuju.

No you are not getting it. XD You do not need a shiny bar to be more close nit and you do not need a private member bar to show your trustworthy.

:/ Oook...this is getting difficult to defend my idea.

All I am trying to say is to have a "shiny member" rank as a reward and encouragement for being active. Is that hard to ask?

Yes , but Gargar , it's kinda of unfair to the active
codex membersto be put in the same group as the
in-active members.
It'll just be one more step between private and codex member. :)

We should give it a try , no?

You shouldent need a reward for being active. XD
I think this may discourage new members from posting if you all post in the "Shiny member Chat" the general chat is fine.

And also if you want a "shiny bar" and a "shiny chat" just keep applying for private.

How is it unfair? there's inactive members in just about every group even retired. Presonaly i dont see a problem about having the same rank as some inactive members. This is what private is for obviously inactive members wont get in. I just think its a extra steping stone that isent needed. XD

Um Yeah But It is nice to be seperated by the inactive as xbrokenx said.
I dont think you'll see it the way We See it because you're private and this rank wouldnt effect or make a difference to you.

Private membership isnt in our control.
OTHER people decide when we deserve it.

It would be nice to have some encouragement. Maybe a little even.
This would be the only membership in our control too:)

:( Why must you be so negitive about this?

It's once again , just one more step between private and codex member.

And sure , this'll boost the activity of the members , and if it doesn't well , then take it off.
But we'll never know unless we try. :)
It'll encourage the regular active members not to give up , because they're only one step away from private now. :)

It'll be an automatic thing , anyways.
When you hit 500 posts , it'll change your status.
-And if that'll be too much work for the mods and admins , then
Radiuju and her co-captin can do it. :)

It doesnt matter if it's neccesairly needed. But matters if its wanted.

Because in trying to say you dont need a "shiny" rankt to show your active. XD

And also this would pretty much get rid of the general chat if the active people posted in the shiny chat. XD

Maybe not, But it is encouraging and well..Shiny.
Its another step from Neocodex member to show you're almost to private.

I will still say give it a try

I don't think there should be a Shiny Chat. If you have the shiny tag, you'd just get more recognition around the boards, and I think that's good enough.

Its another step from Neocodex member to show you're almost to private.

It wouldn't really mean you are closer to private. It isn't necessary for private members to have a large amount of posts.

I don't wanna be a 'Shiny Member' thing, sounds fairly girly, unprofessional i lub my red thing ^_^
I agree with Ali, just raise the limit to become a normal NeoCodex member, instead of needing to get to this 'Shiny' status to be proud why can't people be proud reaching the state of normal member?
It will also detract from the glory of private if you add stepping stones.
