Just the quote part, not the rest.

Offending Black people: Racist
Offending women: Sexist
Offending gays: Homophobic
Offending Jews: Anti-Semitic
Offending (Arabs &) Muslims: Freedom of speech

Well, it's quite true, lately there's been a lot of media attention to the middle east, Arabs, Muslims, suicide bombers and etc, and because of this attention, it's been spread around negatively. To be honest, I say so what?

It's happened to every race, creed, religion, sexuality so far, why not the Muslims and Arabs?

The Jews were originally picked on from the start, and it continued on to the 12th century where from the entirety of France by Louis IX in 1254 expelled all the Jews. This hatred continued on till the late 18-19th century where Jews were particularly disliked, books, media, and general hatred for Jews was common. Then the Nazi's, nuff said?

Blacks. Ohh...shit did I say blacks? I meant...afro...oh f uck that, black people have recently come under this new light of using the race card, but before that blacks were seen as slaves to us, really where did I get that from? Maybe from Western Europeans and Americans using them as slaves until it was abolished, and this racism never stopped though, it took them a long time before a black person could sit next to a white person on a bus, or a black person could run for president. Hell, there's never been a black president, but I doubt that's got much to with race.

Sexism is pretty straight forward, men have always looked down on women (sometimes in a good way ;)) and never thought as equal, but luckily that's changing now, but still we have people who still prejudice to women, stuff like jobs and other macho things are being challenged by females who wish to be treated as equals.

Homosexuals are still being persecuted for their "crimes", in some countries homosexuality is illegal and punishable by death, in some countries it's illegal for homosexuals to get married and so forth, times are changing and in some countries gays are allowed to get married.

Even minor (I don't mean minor as in inferior, I meant as it wasn't as a big deal like the holocaust or slavery) races like the Irish and Pakistanis in this country were mocked and ridiculed and some were hurt and killed through racism and prejudice.

Maybe this is just the Arab's and Muslim's time in the soon, think about it really. I'm not saying you should accept all the racist taunts and give up, but it just seems us humans are following a pattern, or to me it is, a pattern that has being going on for thousands of years and to be honest, I don't think it's going to stop anytime soon. This isn't a bias view, this is a wake up call. For me it is anyway.

This isn't about right or wrong, left or right, this is about realising what disgusting things we can do to each other, and this really woke me up a bit more. I wonder who we'll target next, the Chinese, or maybe the Italians?

I would mention the Canadians and the French. But do they count? (OOh burn. Sorry, that was very...very poor.:()

Why should it have to happen to everyone? it shouldnt have happened to the jews or anyone. Just because it has happened to a lot of people, why should it continue?

Just because it has happened to others, doesnt make it ok to do it to more people.

I'm not racist or sexist or whatever. I'm sorry for all of those guys. I am personally glad I am white (no offense), I don't think I could put up with all that hatred and stuff.

Offending Christians seems to be done just for humour...

Not that I'm Christian, I just don't like the hypocrisy..

Why should those offending statements be said though?

That is my entire contention...why do these jokes and stuff have to exist?

Your rights end where others' rights begin

They don't have to continue, and they don't have to tell jokes and such, I'm just saying, this happened before and it'll happen again. That's all. I'm not saying if, and, or, what, how, but..etc..I'm just stating the facts.

That seems too passive for me. Under that logic, we shouldnt work to better society as it will just happen again anyway. We shouldnt work to stop all the genocides in the world, just because they are bound to happen again. We shouldnt care about Uganda, Rwanda and other african countries who have terrible injustice in their systems. Just because it will happen again.

Change is not easy to bring about but it creates a larger and better global harmony.

Yes, I guess you can get that "there's not point in working for a better goal" attitude from my post, it's I was just thinking, shit this has happened before, a lot of times before and it's going to happen again too.

I don't think we can change it to be honest, but we can always work on making it less of a threat.

Hmm the UK, if you meant on the recieving end, I haven't heard of anyone being racially abused on a large scale for being British, because we've been a very strong nation, like Americans haven't been abused either.

If you mean we've been racist etc, well when I was talking about immigrants and the Irish, it was alot of Britains doing it. Since the Irish immigratied to alot of places in London, some were shuned to "ghettos" or the poorer parts.

No one said that is should happen, just that it does. And really, I hate it when people make things like in your signature, it does nothing but help create barriers between everyone.
To me it really reads: "So what if you're being discriminated against, at least there's a word for it, we have it REALLY rough."
And its just not true, there are people standing up for the muslims/arabs. You're just more aware because its finally happening to YOU.

The human race is pretty crappy, we are terrible as a society, the best we can hope to do is change ourselves and raise our families properly. Bringing attention to yourself serves nothing.

I get persecuted all the damn time because of
a. I'm a girl
b. I'm a christian
c. believe it or not, because I'm caucasian

I just don't bring attention to it, I grit my teeth and promise myself that I will raise my daughter proper. I will continue to do my work and I will continue to be a good person whether some jackass down the street says otherwise. That's all that can be done.

I basically get put down on because I'm white and have long hair.

A black kid asked me if he was racist today, I told him yes. He asked how, and told him because he doesn't like white people and calls people cracker. He told me that isn't being racist. So I asked him if I called him a n***er if I'd be racist, and he said yes.

I was like wtf?

>_<

But I pretty much agree with you Frizzle. Most of the other people that have been put down just take it, and don't think to much of it O.o
(from what I've noticed)

Making fun of Christians is funny.
Making fun of black people is funny.
Making fun of homosexuality is funny.
Making fun of Mexicans is funny.
Making fun of white people is funny.
Making fun of Arabs is funny.
Making fun of Jews is funny.
Making fun of homo-phobes is funny.

Do you get my drift? Making fun is fun. Hatred is different.

Its all so stupid. You should just live in the country you want, and that be it. I hate how people from other countries live in Australia and bag Australia and the Aussies and stuff, that annoys me. They choose to live here and they dont like it, go somewhere else than. Racism is stupid, there is no need for it. If you dont like someone because of there race thats stupid. You shouldnt treat them like shit, Its all so dumb...annoys me quite alot. All of it. Racism is something that world doesnt need.

So what???
That's total balogna. After all that they should learn by now that there should no longer be anything like that! Isn't that what we learned everytime?? That's why we stopped being sexist racist etc.......

Those were all lessons learned. If they stopped being racist etc then what the hell?

And moved to debate

The you.S. is really taking this whole terrorist thing to far. Its like anyone whose muslim or has brown skin color is a suspect for being a terrorist. Im muslim and my dad was stopped at the airport for 2 hours. They had no reason to hold him, hes been an american citizen for over 35 years.

This entire war is putting muslims in a bad light, like we are all extremist. This kid at school called me a terrorist when I said I was muslim, so I called his mom a *removed* that *removed* *removed* who *removed* *removed*, and I got a detention but the other kid didnt b/c "he didnt know any better". what kind of fuck is that. I think you get my point
