Anyway, yes we have thought of this...however, we prefer IPB's style of doing things and their clean code as many admins modify the forum's code in order to introduce custom features and functions into our board system. Furthermore, my good friend Mumei who is a senior programmer on our forum has donated a large sum of money to our forum so that we could purchase this board software. We are very grateful to him and hope to continue to be able to use this software for as long as it will have us .

Oh, I see now, but I believe its quite possible to port everything over, and most programmers think that its easier to code with vbulletin, especially if you're an experienced coder. Please dont mind him, I think hes high

You would find that the forums load a lot faster with vbulletin, but its not my call.

I've taken a look at vbulletin's code and its a bit messy to tell you the truth. The structure is not as clean as IPB's which is based on great use of functions to clean code up and also a flow architecture within the scripts which allow for ease of coding and adding new features. I'll look more into it, for sure .Oh, I see now, but I believe its quite possible to port everything over, and most programmers think that its easier to code with vbulletin, especially if you're an experienced coder.

As for speed of loading...I hear that vbulletin uses a lot of eval() calls, which is pretty slow and tiresome on the server and can usually be avoided in the grand scheme of things
I'll definately look into it though .

Plus we've got so many home grown mods on the board, it would be quite a bit of work porting things like the download and codexcheck systems over to VB

its far more customizable in my oppinion and it would be too much of a hassle for Mumei and the other staff members that contribute to the codex check to port it into vB.

ASP > PHP
Other than that, I think vB is just icky. Its so ugly, and I prefer IPB much more!

<3 IPB... in terms of normal users, like myself, it's so much more friendly. vB is cold.
IPB is Aslan, vB is Jadis.

Funny, because I find vBulletin much easier to use as a regular user. As an admin though, IPB wins in terms of user friendly.
