The rest of the sig is very good... but why not try text without stroking it? Play around with layer blending modes and layer styles and whatnot instead. 
Drop shadows or set the text layer to overlay, anything - just try things out. Simplest thing to do first is to experiment!

I like to go with very simple texts.. mainly Century Gothic with a color from the render or background. Depending on the color of the background so it appears well. Sometimes I play around with the first letter of the word.. changing its color slighly or maybe in a different text. And adding a simple design.. a line a square or some circles.. around the text can improve it a alot too.
