I am getting an error like: Run Codex Check 0- Please Check you have the required files what do I do?

This error is telling you that the codex check is missing a required file

Go to CodexCheck Download and download the required files listed there (usually installing the Control Pad (unicode) will fix this error)

Please make sure the installation of the control pad has worked

------------------------------------------

I am getting an error like: Component 'CheckControl3.ocx' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid what do I do?

Go to CodexCheck Download and download the Codex Check, install it, and try again.

I am getting some VB.UserControl error what do I do?

You need an up-to-date version of the CodexCheck

Go to CodexCheck Download and download the Codex Check, install it, and try again.

I am getting an error like: Component 'MSINET.ocx' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid what do I do?

registering an OCX (also works for dlls)

1. Download xxx.OCX the missing OCX or DLL - google for "download" and the component you're missing.

2. Back up your current copy of xxx.OCX and copy the new version to the same file location. This file should be located in the WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory (for Windows XP: \windows\system32\).

3. Using your mouse, click on the "Start" button and then click on "Run".

4. According to your Operating System, type the following command to register this library file:

Windows 95, 98, or Me:
regsvr32 \windows\system\xxx.OCX

Windows NT or 2000:
regsvr32 \WINNT\system32\xxx.OCX

Windows XP:
regsvr32 \windows\system32\xxx.OCX

5. You should see a message saying "DllRegisterServer ... succeeded"

I get a funny error when installing Control Pad

If you get this error:

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEN32\AUTOEXEC.NT.
The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and
Microsoft Windows applications. Choose 'Close' to terminate the application

you have a corrupt file in Windows - if it's XP follow this link Help Page

if that doesn't help, search the web for the phrase

AUTOEXEC.NT "not suitable for running MS-DOS"

and your Windows build (eg XP)

I've tried everything, and it's still not working

OK - make sure you've tried everything here, how silly will you feel if after an hour of detailed investigation it turns out you just didn't install the MS Control Pad?

That said, if it's a real problem, I want to hear about it.

Quick Checklist:
1) I have the latest version of the Check CodexCheck Download to check
2) I have checked the discussion thread to check I'm reporting a new error CodexCheck Discussion Topic to check
3) I have searched Codex using the search facility to check no-one else has reported this problem
4) is it happening on all programs?
5) Does it happen all the time?
6) are you getting any error messages? (Screen shots are useful)
7) has it only just started getting errors?

to report an error - post it in the CodexCheck Discussion Topic with as much information as possible (answers to the above checklist)

you may be asked to provide the debug log, to do this, follow these instructions:

1) Goto C:\Program Files\Neocodex Check V3\
you'll find a file CodexV3Config.ini

2) Open this file in notepad
in there you'll find a few setttings

3) Change all the
...=0

to
...=1

4) Rerun the program

5) PM me the CodexV3DebugLog.txt - Make sure you PM me it, DO NOT POST THIS FILE
(if you can't post attachments, then open it with notepad, copy and paste it into as many PMs as you need and send me it)
