I feel putting people in two partys, or any at all is why america is starting to suck. as it doesnt let people think for themselves. if you ever whatch cspan youll see them voting and most democrates and republicans vote for yes or no, depending on what there party is for. theres ussally a few that will vote for the other side tho (2 at max).

anyway,if you want it, im kinda both but more demacrat

Whoever brought up Rwanda, thats their own problem and a UN problem that they chose to avoid. We didnt want another Somalia and the UN were peacekeepers, not peace makers. Im assuming your basing this off the genocide of the Tutsi people, correct? Thats all I really know about Rwanda.

Invading North Korea doesnt really protect any American intrests, infact, like someone brought up earlier, its not good for Americans. We dont want China to be against us.

China in all truth in my eyes poses the greatest threat for america. Heck we could loose wars in other small countries, butt china has the only chance to take us over...

Now now, Lee... They're only American.
Play nice ;)

Btw, generally, I rate a nations greatness by their technological and scientific advances... and for being one of the largest nations on the planet, America does rank suspiciously low ^_^

Silly Bill Gates. (No insult intended :x )

And I'll be along with the Republicans, though I think we should all just merge the parties together in order to create a pwnsome goverment.

Like... a goverment equivilant to The Justice League....

I agree with democratic ideals, but I can't take sides at this point in time - until democrats start acting like democrats.

I hope Rudolph W. Giuliani runs for president, although is a republican, he was the best NYC has had in a long time.

Lol, what you think Bill Gates invented the computer or something?
Bill Gates is a businessman, an entrepreneur. Nothing more.

As a side note, the first mechanical calculator was built by a German. The first device to use punch cards as an input method was created by a frenchman (it was a loom, btw). The first programmable computer was designed by an Englishman. Luckily for you, digital methods were largely put forward by an American, though as a saving grace, he did attend Gaylord High School. He also invented many devices, including rocket-powered Frisbees, a motorized pogo stick, a wearable computer to predict the result of playing roulette, and a flame-throwing trumpet for a science exhibition. Interesting...

I don't agree that America is the greatest country in the world, as that really isn't more me to decide, but the cliche patronizing attitude towards general America cannot be tolerated, as it isn't deserved.

Consider the age of America versus the age of most European countries. The numbers are quite different. While Europe was experiencing a technological revolution, we were trying to create the foundations of our society. Likewise, near the end of the British Industrial Revolution, Americans developed many note-worthy products and produced many important physicists and chemists.

Both continents have produced many important figures for science. If you find my post lacking in products and name, I'm happy to name people from America that have developed products you probably use. Lay down the sword, pls.

Now that there is a much more informed reply ^_^
I take your really very valid point concerning the age of the civilisations involved.

Well met, sir.

To answer the question to what America has invented one must look at what Eli Whitney invented. Two inventions that changed the world. One was the cotton gin which both had good AND bad effects. Good because we could process cotton easily. Bad because it gave more reason for slavery. That is mostly what he is known for. But the biggest invention is in my opinion interchangable parts. Without those it is possible that the industrial revolution would have been painstakingly slow. America also had Edison which is argued by many to be one of the greatest inventors in history. Partially why America is one of the greatest nations in the world (hard to say what IS the greatest but America is up there) is because it has an incredible mesh of cultures. America's specialty is not really building things, but I see America is almost... being a nation of inventors. While it is not true for all of course and many other countries have great histories... I just find American history facinating.

I do realize that America has some dark history... however I do not think it deserves the type of bashing it gets every day like Amagius gets. America is a great country just like many others are. I think we deserve just as much respect as... England gets for example :p I applaud you Amagius for your post too :D

You think America has alot of cultures? Bullshit, ever been to the UK, thought not.

We've housed Jews, the French, Japanase tourists, immigrants, the Irish and all in one century of pure crap. We have the biggest cultural balance in the world.

I'd personally think Britian has done more, with the Victioran ages and all, I mean that just says it all, but then again you can't compare to Edison.

Oh goodness no. I never said England didn't. In fact I know that England is quite a large cultural country in fact a lot of America's culture is based upon England. And yes, you're right. I have never been to England but I HAVE been all over most of the rest of Europe. (I wish I could go there. I'm thinking of taking a semester of college in London). I meant no disrespect towards England. If I sounded like I was disrespecting England, I'm sorry :p I'm just trying to justify that America DOES have its worth in the world.

Oh ok Tet, I thought you was trying to say Britain was uncultured, which is nowhere near the truth.

People were being banned from putting English flags up on St. Georges day, I mean if you can't celebrate your country..in your own country, where the fuck can you do it?
