Alright, so maybe some of you already know.. but about two weeks ago I ordered Windows Vista (Beta 2) and well, I got it about 3 days ago. So, obviously I installed it, but like an effing idiot, I did upgrade. :shifty: The thing is, I don't have any partitions on my computer, I'm too dumb to make any and all and all. So I upgraded from XP to Vista. Vista was working pretty good, it had some new features that were just woohoo!! But I have this crappy wireless card and for some reason, on vista it kept on disconnecting like every 5 mins... so thgat was pretty annoying. And like I said earlier, I had done an upgrade, meaning I couldn't go back.

Alright, so here I am stuck with Vista and basically no internet. I pop in the XP cd, and obviously, I can't install since it's an older version and bla bla bla. What I do now? I tried creating a partition and whatever.. well, it just didn't work because I suck at that. (I'll learn, somehow)

Then, I had the brilliant idea to boot with the XP cd. So far it was working, and I was at the part where it had to copy files.. then, bam! about 50 files couldn't be copied and the installation crashed.

Anyways, I ended making work by formating my disk and losing everything.. luckily I backed up my music, some important programs, pics, and videos. Alright, so I'm at the point where the installation had finished and I had to install a couple of drivers.

Remember my crappy wireless card? Well, once again it was shoving shit up my ass  it took me about 2 hours to make it work.. which really got me pissed! But the good thing is I made it work.

But of course, with my luck, things couldn't start to work just yet.. one more thing had to go wrong, and that was MCE. God damn Live TV wouldn't work. Like an idiot I install full of useless dell drivers thinking maybe it would make it work.. at the end, it turned out all I needed was some codec, decoder bla bla..

So now, everything works!! Atleast, I think. I'm pretty happy.. but all of this cost me a whole day of just fucking around on my computer. :sorry:

Bottom line is, don't try vista unless you really need too.. it's fun and all, but it's just not stable enough, yet.

I guess I have to put somethig to discuss so: What do you think of vista for what you've heard or saw, so far?

Well, you upgraded.. that's your first mistake.

As everyone knows, when installing Windows, install it cleanly. NEVER 'upgrade.' It'll just cause problems down the road.

I'm tempted to try Vista, but I'll wait until the next revision..

yup yup.. what I did.. but seeing that i lost everything.. sucks. But it's all good as I backed up what's important.

The thing that scared me shitless was reading some forums saying it was impossible to go back to XP with Vista.. oh well.

It was shoving shit up my ass. :agent:
    LOL! :D

Excuse my ADD, sucks what happened. All windows sucks. All of it is unstable. xD All we can say is that 98SE is the most stable, but too out of date, so we have to stick to XP, which is a crap shute. xD

Well beta products aren't really supposed to be stable :p. Maybe your card wasn't er. proper? for vista since it's not officially released or something?
