I'm having problems with a lot of programs lately. FOr instance Neomatrix will run as long as I use compatibilty wizard, but it will not do anything. My refresher will refresh at a very high speed, yet nothing will happen.
Msn messenger is another example. Whenever I try to send a message there is about a 7 second delay. I noticed that all of these are downloaded programs, all from safe servers.
Any advice that may fix these problems are appreciated.

I have no idea how to fix those   I suggest that you restore your computer to an older date (if you are using windows xp) where those programs worked...or reformat

I suggested that to my parents, but they just said that its 'popups', and friggin 'ad-aware'. My dad doesn't even know that ad-aware prevents!!!!   I am fearing that I may have deleted an I'mportant file, on my comp, like a driver, because it was infected with a virus or somethin.

that may be the case but its highly unlikely, if you deleted a driver, windows xp prbly wouldnt let you because its a system file and is necessary for the running of the comp...but if you somehow did manage to delete the driver, applications would stop running totally and wouldnt show slowness like the symptoms you are having

It's not your fault. I'm positive if I wasn't so handicapped with computer knoledge I could have prevented this from happening in the first place. While trying to fix it perhaps, I can learn a thing or two.

lol ok, by the way, if you want to change your disability with computers, dont buy a book...thats the worst thing you can do to learn about computers...books dont teach you s*** about using a computer...the best thing to do, pyke, is just sit on the computer and play around with it and you will learn on your own

thats the best way to learn anything :(

I think I have an undetectable virus on my comp. Because the symptoms are beginning to spread to other parts of my comp. Now at ti'mes my internet explorer is having the same delays.
I have taken actions, and hope to prevent any files from being continually lessened in functions.
