Well since I posted a topic about techno, I thought I would post a topic about jazz.

Well I personally don't listen to it much for pleasure. I enjoy playing it (guitar). It is some of the most challenging and difficult genres of music to play.

I like a great many jazz guitarists. But my all time favorite and possibly the most musically talented man of our era, Pat Metheny. (I could go on forever on his accomplishments)

I like more main stream jazz like John Scofield too.
Oh, and Jaco Pasturs (spelling?). Any true player of the bass guitar would tell you he is the best. That man revolutionized the bass guitar. All the fancy bass playing you hear now adays was pioneerd by him. He died a few years back I think.

And there is this new guy Dave Martone. HE plays rock music without the repeated chords, you know jazz inprov like. I met him and listened to him for the first time at a lecture in dallas. That guy is 23 (or something like that) and was killing some of the old time teachers.

Check him out http://davemartone.com
