To build up chest you have to do pushups, and bench press, for legs you have to do leg lifting, and leg pullups, and pull downs... For back use the rowing machine, for stomach do situps(best way) For for tricepts use pull backs and just regular waight lifting.. and for shoulders also do pushups..and for back use the rowing machine..

    Thats all you basicly need..

    Heres the schedule I use:

    Monday: Shoulders and tricepts
    Tuesday: Stomach, and chest
    Wendsday: Back and legs
Thrusday: A little bit of everything
Friday: Situp's only like 200 that day... you can do less and build up.. do like by 20's and stuff and thats all for that day..
Saturday: REST, No exersize at all! You have to relax that day liek take a hot bath because your muscles will be like blocked.. like I dont know how to explain this but your muscles need to relax...
Sunday: Jog a little bit and like 50 pushups and 50 sit ups...

Follow that guide, in like 3-5 months you will see results..

REMEMBER: Dont just start with heavy weights right away just start with light and do 3 sets in each set 12 times..

You should work your larger muscle groups first, you're saying that you do triceps and then chest the next day, well you're sort of screwing yourself over. You need to be using your triceps to be maximizing your chest while on the bench press, but according to your plan, your arms will still be restoring themselves while you're trying to use them for your chest. That's not a very good idea. Your muscles don't necessarily need to cease for a full day either; the muscle group should be ready to go in 48 hours, so let's say you work chest on Monday, on Tuesday you do your legs, well you can work your chest out again on Wednesday.

well, in the past few (maybe 4, I'm not totally sure) months, I've lost about 40 pounds, but I'm doing it in a healthy way. I wasn't obese, but I was much heavier than I wanted to be. The way I did it was first by cutting down on what I ate (I used to eat a rediculous amount, like 4 slices of pizza for a meal), what I did was just cut down to a bit less than I saw most people eating, and watching calorie counts (eating generally 1500-2000 per day) and started running and lifting weights. At first, I felt really hungry, and couldn't run very far (half a mile was really, really hard), but after a short while, I was content with the amount of food I was eating, and am now able to run to and from work (a few miles away, up and down hills). All it really takes is some dedication.

P.S. DRINK DIET SODA!!!!!! (90 calories in one serving of most sodas, and a serving isn't much at all, lol)

Oh wow.. Are you being serious with the "No atkins" thing? I went on it a few months ago, lost about 3 pounds of day. And I still ran and did pushups everyday. Of course eventually I started losing less weight when I started getting more muscle, after a period of about 3 months.

Though I do lose weight fast >_>

I tried south beach, which is similar to atkins, but when I was on it, I started feeling very tired, and not too healthy, lol, then I did some research and it all pointed to low carb diets not being very good for you :(

First off, don't listen to Adobe at all, he has no idea whatsoever with how workout schedules and specific muscle groups work. I'm going to help you out a bit. First things first, DO NOT FOCUS ON BUILDING MUSCLE! Why? You can have all the muscle in the world, but if it's hidden underneath fat, it makes no difference. Do this...

Go out and buy 7 1 gallon bottles of water. Label them for each day of the week. Each day, that will be your liquid. You will not need anything else, 1 gallon of water is plenty for any human to survive on. Soda is horrible for you, diet or not, as are most juices. I don't care if you need your daily Vitamin C from Orange Juice, there are other ways to get it. If you MUST drink juice, dilute it equally with water.

Do Cardio! Screw Push-Ups, Sit-Ups, etc. Those are to build/tone muscle. The best thing you can do is Jump Rope. If you can't Jump Rope, Run. If no run, jog. If no jog, bike. If no bike, walk. Walking is a last resort, it gives you the least amount of workout possible. I'd suggest just going out and running as far as you can for an hour. Do that (EVERY SINGLE DAY!!!!!!!!!!), combined with Water (foods don't matter too much in this case, but just don't be shoving yourself full of Pizza and Sugar) for a month, and you'll be ready to start building muscle. Read these when you're ready.

Jogging is a great way to loose weight, and like sock mentioned don't do alot of weight just do alot of reps that really tones things up. Watch what you eat don't go to McDonalds or eat anything if you don't know what it contains. :)
The best of luck to ya =]

    Water is always the best.

Be serious about diet first man. Good diet will take away most of the weight.

If you eating a cake for breakfast, cake for lunch, cake for dinner, doing 100 pushups and 100 situps and w.e else on the machines wont help you.

I only say drink diet soda, because if you're accustomed to drinking a lot of soda, switching to diet is much better than continuing to drink regular soda

btw, does it really cause hunger? I've never noticed that personally.

Also, people keep saying not to work on building muscle, but that may actually be a good idea, the more muscle mass you have, the more calories you burn, so if you do a combination of exercises like running and lifting, you might lose weight faster.

Then again, none of us (as far as I know) are doctors, so maybe you should ask one, lol?

No, the longer your heartrate stays at an increased rate, the quicker your metabolism is. Muscle mass has nothing to do with the amount of calories you burn. I'm just saying, if you're trying to lose weight, putting more (muscle) is not the way to go.

Don't drink soda at all. Diet Soda is just as bad. It's not the calories you're concerned about. Juices are horrible for you, wayyyyy too much sugar. Stick with Water, it's all the body needs.

Edit: Lemonblood, are you talking for building muscle mass or decreasing body weight?

All you really have to do is take 1 gallon bottles and fill them with sand, works just as well as free weights.

ADD me on MSN- [email protected]

I have been working out for 13 years, 8 hardcore.
I am also a presonal trainor for PURE fitness.

A diet is the most important part. I can help you.

Anyway. There are 2 main types of working out. The one you want to worry about is cardiac. Stuff like arobics. For those that were saying you need to get your heart rate up, you are right. But, when someone says mucsle weighs more than fat you are right, but you LOOSE fat before you gain muscle. Lets say you 189 pounds like me. If I was all fat and I started working out, (lifting) then I would drop to lets say 150, then if I contuined, over a longer period of time I would then again reach 189 pounds.

Lifting on your core is not bad for looseing weight.
    HIGH REPETIONS LOW WEIGHT!!!!!!!!!!
I cant stress that enough. To get toned muscle for the athletic look, you want high reps. If your looking to get bulky and have the high mass like I do, then low reps, increased weight.

I would be more than glad to put you on a HIGH carb low fat diet..... Those damn low carb deits or for lazy people. Eat lots of chicken/tuna. Hi protien, low fat.

I only say drink diet soda, because if you're accustomed to drinking a lot of soda, switching to diet is much better than continuing to drink regular soda

    NO SODA!!!!!!!!
    Or energy drinks.
All it does is dehydrate you. I have 4% body fat, I weight 189, I bench 280 sumtin, squat 350 sumtin, and powerclean 240 sumtin. I DRINK NO SODA. I will have a monster when I paintball. Thats it. DRINK WATER!!!!!!! DRINK GATORAID!!!! Buy waterbottles and a funnel and a tub of gatoraid powder..... Thats what I do.

Run, run, run. Then run some more.
Throw on your Ipod and go jogging. Get your heart rate up. Go swimming. Be active.

It's not hard. Honestly. Get off the damn computer. lol. JK. Too much codex lol!

EDIT: Oh and I forgot. A good muti-vitamin can be an awsome thing. Get in lots of Vitamin-c. It will get you bouncing off the walls. ANd dont bother with protein shakes or supliments. 99% of it is shit. Way to many fillers. There are a few out there worth taking. If you are wanting to get into supplimetns then talk to me first.

Supplements don't need to be taken unless you want to get into bodybuilding. You don't need them, whatsoever. The only thing I can recommend taking is a Multi-Vitamin, like Sonic said. Why? Because you will not be getting a high amount, and it's an easy way to keep your body getting everything it needs.

Eat chicken/fish and carbs not so high in starch. Carbs can be bad for you. Eat foods like pasta and brown rice, not brownies and the likes.

I wouldn't recommend drinking Gatorade, just for the fact that it has so much sugar into it. You really wont need it for what you're doing. Stick to a Gallon of water a day. Just get over lifting for now, it will get you distracted from the main goal.

Lifting builds/tones muscle. Cardio increases heartrate which increases metabolism which increases fat loss. Fat loss > Muscle Toning until you are about 20 pounds under the "average weight" for your height and age. When you reach say 10% body fat of under, than start focusing on muscle.

Energy drinks are horrible for you, worse than soda. Ever notice how most energy drinkis are made from Soda Companies?

Look at http://www.bodybuild.../fun/hugo13.htm if you need a workout schedule. Though that's for toning and sculpting muscle. Keep in mind not all schedules work for everyone, just adjust it to fit your life.

There are many varities of pushups you can do to work different parts of your upper body. Having the hands closer to the center of your chest is good for working triceps, where as farther out works your back and pecs more.

Do some jogging/running. At first only focus on going for certain times not distances. As your cardiac improves you can set different goals :D . Skipping is also a good workout :p
