When I turn on my computer.. it is normal, I see the scree showing dell and stuff.. but when it plays the sound that I lgged in to my comp and shows the wallpaper.. my monitor just shuts off but the button on the monitor is gree, which shows its on..

Now I descovered that if I turn off and then turn on my monitor by switching off my monitor, and switching it back on, it shows again for like 30 sec. and then shuts off again..
ANy suggestions on what might be causing this?
