Many of my accounts are being iced for "attempting to scam." Probably like most of you, this has happened to you as well. After looking into the situation in the increased amount of ices with this reason, I came to a simple conclusion.

TnT is now timing how long you take to login, and when they see an entire page skipped for logging in, they will ice you for it; hence getting the "Attempting to scam" reason.

Simply put, most programmers (including me) use a single line request to log you into neopets, which is now a huge mistak. Like I said before, most programs use a single request to login, which causes TnT to catch you. It is now best for programmers to re-write their neopets logins so it goes through both pages of the login. (enter username, post it, enter password, login)

To those who use programs, just make sure the program you are using doesn't use the single request to login, as it will most probably lead to an iced account, regardless of how much you use the program.

I have talked to about 8 people about this now, all of them being programmers and said they get iced for "attempting to scam," and also use the single request to login. This further proves that the single request is the problem.

Just thought I'd give the heads-up

How long has this been going on?

I've been using a program that I have no idea whether or not it goes through both pages of the login for like 2 weeks now and I haven't gotten frozen.

Well, I first noticed they timed the login a few weeks ago, and thought nothing of it until I started to find that I was getting iced just by logging in with one of my programs and not doing anything else.

Chances are if you've lasted 2 weeks, it goes through both pages.

I've lasted two weeks, as well. Whew.

Thanks for the heads up, though. It's very useful advice for future programmers.

This account was using a 'cheat' or downloadable cheat program.

That was the last thing I got frozen for tongue.gif

I feel good that ALL my programs use a full login smile.gif

Interesting they'd do this. I can imagine that many people (who aren't using bots) login like this to save time. It's most likely that they also check other criteria such as constant refreshes and other behavior that indicates the use of a bot.

You've also got to be gentle with headers too, one wrong header sent and it means your account is frozen the second it hits the server.

Yeah, everyone pretty much used to do it that way until the programmers figured they would compromise safety for speed, lol. tongue.gif
Now everyone's switching back because they're watching the logins good now.
