To be taken advantage of??? You should go talk to some kids that go to my school that have enlisted, kids that get 30k a year free tuition because they're in the military. They enlist to protect their country and to serve their country and it's elected officials. That's exactly what they're doing.

The soldiers in Iraq and in Afganistan don't seem like there doing any protecting. I like to call it "Protecting the presidents oil pipes." That's only what I think though. tongue.gif

Or if you ever get drafted, do what my Dad did, and when they do the health check, stay up all night and do loads of drugs. He was told that they check you in the middle of the night when you are asleep so that's what he did. He failed the health check and didn't have to go to war smile1.gif

Actually, if protecting oil pipes means protecting our economy then so be it. But hey, why the bark weren't we protecting the oil pipes before 9/11...that must mean that we're over there to find the people responsible right?

I am saying we're over there to find Al-Queda members. He said we were there to protect oil pipes. Now, we didn't have the same presence in Afghanistan before Sept 11th as we do now, so I'm saying that this point must be incorrect.

I see. Yeah I'm not denying the legitamacy of the Afghanistan invasion. The rebuilding of Aghanistan after we removed the Taliban regime, however, was a disaster as we rushed into Iraq too quickly. We were attacked, we invaded and removed the attackers and liberated millions of Muslims from the hijacking of their own religion by the Taliban. You should hear some of the things they tried to justify dry.gif. Makes all Muslims look bad dry.gif.

You know, it's funny, I keep seeing articles about soldiers being sick of the war, etc.

But yet I've never seen video of them saying it. I've certainly never heard of it out of the numerous friends I have in the military who are over there right now. I haven't seen any soldiers coming home making a ruckus.

If anything, I've seen them do nothing but volunteer to go back - even if they had a serious injury - to go back and continue the fight. My friend Jeff has lost a number of friends so far in the war - including his Iraqi friends on the base who were murdered by their own people (they were target, not random victims) - yet when he got injured by an IED and was sent back to the US all he can talk about is going back. And the thing is, I haven't seen very many soldiers who DON'T act like that.

http://www.patdollard.com/Teasers.html - those are some pretty good videos straight from Iraq from an independent producer looking to make a documentary. I especially liked the part where the Iraqis insulted Michael Moore.

wow, thats amazing, im going to have to call bullshit.

first of all, when you join the army, your not taught to fight like that, and secondly, no iraqie will jsut walk around with an ak47 and not be stoped by the american army, this was totaly staged, becasue my brother stuck a video camera to his head and taped a fight for me(becasue i wanted to know what it was like to be in a major fire fight)

    it was completely different!

Uh, well, it DID happen, and the soldier probably got court martialed. Secondly, its spelled Iraqi, and they're actually encouraged to do it. They're an extension of the Iraqi police fource... perhaps the best US equivalent would be a militia?

Thirdly, your brother's tape is what? Where is it? Is it an acredited news source? I'll take professional journalism over your interpretation of a video, thank you.

Dude, Im going to have to call bullshit on everything you say.

First off- I doubt you have a brother in the army. If you do, I hope he is smarter than you, I dont like the number of casualties from friendly fire. dry.gif
Second- If he even WAS in the army Im 90% sure he wouldnt bring a camera with him on patrol, even if it was mounted to his helmet.

Its completely different because it doesnt exist!
