Right xD
Dear Everyone, Jeff is actually right, this topic has become slightly out of hand, and I'm sorry about that, because this maple section is a exciting new development for Codex, and I've hardly helped by arguing back.
At that, I'm taking it to PM where I -hope- things won't turn rotten there.
Just want to make a few things clear: I'm not against non-privates having something. I'm pro-having-an-advanced-section. I'm just cross that some people aren't being reasonable about this. Prehaps I'm not being unreasonable.
Anyway! Joe makes the best points xD Go read his posts!

And alot less anybody. Can you honestly say that most of the members here still would have came here if all the stuff was in a private area?
Maybe not most members but I certainly stayed. I came here originally for the cheats, sure... however none of them worked on my computer and to this day still do not to the mystery of some people (no, I do not care to fix the problem anymore) and yet I stayed. Honestly I really think this community needs to stop being about the programs and needs to be more about the people or other parts of the site (*cough* which I'm trying to promote a bit currently). The main attraction of this site should not just be the programs but the fact that we have a damn good kickass community and that is why people join and stay here. If you have to wait for private you should be able to love this community enough to stay and at least remain on your best behavior to get private. Actually I've noticed though that once people integrate themselves into this board they don't even really care much about the programs which is the way it SHOULD be.
...just a random note from a legit player.

But Freak, there's a simple answer to that. If they don't want a program released to people lower than private, they can post it in private rather than somewhere more public. At least give them a choice.
Hrm, though couldn't the same be said for non-private programs? If people want to release to the public, can't they post in the members section?

So basically what we want is hackers coming along for hacks only, nm the rest of Codex?
This is just in it's beginner stages anyway. No one has said hacks are going to be forever cornerd off to non-privates.
This is btw, typical of someone not getting what they want, making a fuss out of it. Both hackers eh?
I don't like it like this, I still have access, and I'm still complaining about it.

Allow ALL Priv +s in, and allow people who think they deserve to be in to apply/get voted on. One application per person every three weeks or something like that. I just dont like the idea of having priv+ as the requirement.
Otherwise I like the idea of expanding Neocodex to some extent, just dont become what Neotwist was .

EDIT: Don't start with the 'Private membership is biased' thing, please >.>

I had the same idea that hawk had a while ago. But that totally defeats the purpose of priv+ hacks, because obviously, if we were deserving enough we would be private already and be able to see the hacks.
EDIT: Don't start with the 'Private membership is biased' thing, please >.>
Ill start with the bolded part: I only went there because he said it would still be biased. If thats the case then the private applications are biased. I was just pointing that out.
They wouldnt be Private + hacks, they would be PRIVATE hacks. Maybe we are not deserving enough to see the whole private area, but what about the "private" area of MS?

He's -not- being unreasonable about it allllll... I think he worded his argument wrong >_< But understandably it's a disappointment to lose a valuable section you once had. Hey- I'd be disappointed if it were me!
I reckon if you try not to be so quirky about it, you can settle for the more and less of what codex has to offer. We have the best community on the internet

If you have all the hacks in private, then you'll attract alot less members into the maplestory section. Sure, you'll get leechers, but then again what did they ever do to hurt anyone?
Abused the hacks and got everything patched

wtf does that mean. This isnt the case here... thats completely irrelevant. I guess an advanced member is "any old pleb off the street"? Thats basically what you said...
