Arite it seems that I have gotten booted for missing a couple of shifts at the old folks home I was working at. Now the feeling really sucks ass cuz it was a sweet nd eazy gig cuz it was close to my house. Me being lazy has actually bitten me in the ass hard. I really dont know what to do. I wanna get another job but I don't know if I should wait a couple months or like not put the place I got fired at on the previous jobs box on the applications. Damn......this is like a wakeup call for me.

Have any of you guys ever gotten fired and what do you advise me to do for future jobs?

here is my advice, ask your employer for a recomendation, and see if he wont tell anyone you where fired for being lazy, for your interviews, just say you wherent needed anymore. and never miss a shift, unless you have no choice, missing shifts is like saying i dont wanna work, which means you get the boot.... so put your job over everything except your girlfriend, and youll do fine. and inform your gf that if you dont work, you cant buy her anything(and she will back off)

if you dont have a gf, then just ignore that part until you do have one.

Umm ye.....I dont think I will ask my employer who fired me for a recommendation. I will try though to ask her kindly not to tell the employers for future applicants that I got fired.

And ye right now im not in a relationship but I dont know wats your experience with girls but the girls I go out with are not golddiggers who would care if I am loaded or not. wink.gif

I wouldve made up something sincere up too and talked my way out if I had the chance to talk about my termination. I mean I didnt even get a notice about me getting fired. I had to ask a person who worked with me.

One of the quotes I live by tongue.gif thumbsup.gif

I haven't gotten a job yet, but I'm sorry you got fired from yours. I'll get a job once I get my license. I, personally, would never work in a retirement home tongue.gif but if you liked it there, sorry you got fired sad.gif

Dude a gold digger means a women who only goes out with a man for the money. All girls like gettin gifts but that doesnt mean they're a gold digger.

I dunno bout the girls that live in your area but the key to a girl's heart is a good time(I dont mean sex), love and support.

And this is so wayy offtopic.

Advice to all guys gettin their first job. Take it seriously even if its a small gig. I was all joking and fooling around with my first job and look what that got me.

    Asshole...

No... they aren't. They LIKE gifts. So does everyone else... If I was a girl, and you gave me one of your poems, I'd run away, and carry a knife with me... they show that you're amazingly desperate o.o

Look around for Mcdonalds jobs or something...then move up from there... they're good to have on a resume.

Wow, this has gotten off-topic. tongue.gif

Errm, i've never been fired from a job because the only one i've ever had (being 14) is a paper route. I wouldn't care less if I lost that, which is why i'm always turning up atleast 30 mins late. tongue.gif

Try your hand at getting a job in retail rather than a fast-food joint, the hours are usually better, and depending on what store, the customers are usually alot more polite.

On the resumes and applications for your future jobs what did you put in the "previous job" experience section. Right now thats the biggest thing concerning me. I don't want me getting fired at my first job to screw me over for other jobs.

Still a lil bummed cuz this school year since I was making pretty good money I was plannin on eating fast food for lunch everyday. tongue.gif

Lol as a joke I will reapply for the same job next summer lol.

I've never been fired, I've quit one job, and I only work at subway in the summer, and chocolate factory during the year while studying.

What do you do at a chocolate factory lol?

Thats a horribly wrong response and thats horrible how you can believe that. And please dont go off topic sad.gif

Anyway, I havent exactly held a job yet, but when I do, I know I wouldnt be lazy since I'm assuming jobs are usually hard to attain (a good one anyway)

Oh tongue.gif Well there's two parts to the place I work, the factory part and the gift shop/cafe. I work in the shop/cafe part, rather than making the actual chocolates.
Yeah so people come in and half the shop part sells gift boxes/baskets and things, then there's the cafe part which sells normal food and coffees.
Here's the website of where I work:

The like environment there was so like eazy as in the old folks were mostly nice, most of workers were cool, nd the bosses didnt seem mean. And I honestly think I skipped no more than 3 shifts at my time there which was less than 2 months.

Maybe it was cause I was still the new guy and the place was over-staffed. unsure.gif
