Everybody talking about Borat on the forums (elsewhere) seem to complain about this, and I think it's a double standard. Lots of people were exploited in the film ("Jews have no shame"), but when the victims are living below poverty, it's suddenly a terrible thing? I'm not talking about you (it's clear you just don't care for the show), but I'm talking about the people who go in and watch the movie and show that suddenly get all apeshit over the fact they used a real poor village, mainly because of authenticity purposes. It's not like they're saying that these people are truly, in real life, all rapists, so I don't see the point.

It's that they were cheated. These people were made to believe that they were filming a documentary on their hardships, then to their suprise they found out they're being presented as rapists and prostitutes and that they engage in casual incest. IPB Image.

Yes, several others were cheated too, because Sacha and his crew are liars and unprofessional.

Yet they still managed to make the funniest film in the last 20 years. Well I say it's worth it.

They must have agreed to it post production, or the company could be taken for millions.

Ergo, one arm chap is out to make a quick buck.

PS, your reliable source is the Daily Mail?

It's no doubt he has no shame, I'll be honest and obvious about that one. For example, he pissed on people for being very right winged about certain topics, but in the end, I'm just a normal guy. So I'm like "fuck it." Being as offensive as possible is the newest trend anyways.

I wondered about that too, because it seems to have a lot of bogus on there. But I don't think they weren't completely cheated out of.

Yeah, you do know the town is in Romania right? It's just that, last year, the leader of Kazakstan frowned upon Sasha because he made them look bad when he won an award for comedy. Something like that.
