.Net is a newer version of visual basic, but it is more advanced and has some .net commands. .net is a lot harder, so if you want easy go with 6.

less programs are written in.net at this ti'me because it is newer

NET is Microsoft's set of unified programming languages that allow developers to create enterprise-class Web and desktop applications across C#, VB.NET, ASP.NET and C++.NET. It includes a powerful set of libraries called the .NET Framework that makes it easier and faster to program than ever before

    definition of .net

Visual Basic (VB) is a RAD (Rapid Application Development) tool, that allows programmers to create Windows applications in very little ti'me. It is the most popular programming language in the world, and has more programmers and lines of code than any of its nearest competitors.

personly I would go for visual basics becasue it is the best for neopets I think but some pople say c++ is but thats very hard most people no vb so its easyer to get help on

Learn VB.net because less people know it and I know it, so I can program with you. I only have 1 programming partner, could always use another companion.

    Isnt VB.net a different program?Because I cant afford visual basic AND vb.net:/
What I mean is I have visual baic 6.0 but I want to learn .net if it is more useful.
I mean to ask for those of you who know .net is what is the reason you wanted to learn .net as opposed to regular vb 6?
