This is weird, but the weirder thing was that a member with something like 120 posts was retired.
How are some of these members private?

So basically it's hard to make 100 posts a day when there was only 100 members! Which only 30-40 were active.
There's been multiple threads to demote, but what's the point?

Post count is one of the single least important statistics in the known universe...

since codex is so big now there is obviously a lot more competition and the standards have been changed
If you are competing it is only against yourself

yes i agree absolutely, but when less people apply standards are obviously lowered.
that kind of reminds me of my situation, the reason i didn't get in was because i only won by like 6:5 and then from there on you need to win by more than one votes or something. that situation kinda ticked me off, i didn't think i'd make private at all, but when i was posted in the "Accepted to private" thread, and then later removed.. cant really remember it was over 2 years ago

That musta sucked =(. Wasn't around at that stage.
Anyways people are pickier about private these days apparently but it's like others have said, just because there are so many people that if standards were the same everyone would be private and it wouldn't really mean anything to anyone at all as a rank

Well for one, this bluejay66 guy I believe is Hydro's friend he invited to the site and he made private for some reason. Then several are from waaaaaaaaaay back, but yes actually... the standards for private have signifigantly changed. People who applied for private long ago and got in immediately (I hear, wasn't there at the time) wouldn't have gotten in until many applications later if the standards were as they are now. It's pretty hard to get into private and harder to get into retired and insane to get into staff as they only have a general set number of people
not really actually. when i had applied for private about 1.5 years ago, i dint get it. May be thats considered new and not old?

Though I'm sure lots of people would tell me private doesn't matter to them now anyways.
It doesnt matter to me. Seriously. I dont play neopets or MS, I just made a neo account to donate to the contest team because I wanted to feel helpful

BTW, for anyone who may know, where is AUS? I know he was moving and what-not... but shouldn't he have moved by now..? that was over a year ago.. besides how is he doing anyways?
(For those of you who weren't around, AUS was an admin.. (and a pretty cool guy, too...))
Yeah, AUS disappeared a long time ago.. I haven't seen him in forever and a day.
When I got private, I think I only had ~300 posts. I used to lurk quite a bit.. didn't really post much.. course, that's changed now that I have my own comp with unlimited internet access... I tend to be here quite a bit

lol from what I see and keep getting told, its a pretty important thing
Its not important, at all. You just have to post enough so people can recognize you. If you are like Bob people will never be able to recognize you because you change your name so much
