This sounds really cool...

If you guys have ever been to sigoftheweek.com, I know they have graphics teams/clans that battle with each other through different little tournies and stuff (1v1's, clan collab, etc...). I totally think we should have that here. It would need it's own sub-forum for Clan Tryouts, Clan Battles, and other shtuff like that (I think the problem will be getting mods for this section, unless the gfx leaders do it), and make their own clan banner tongue.gif.

Basically, anyone can start a gfx clan. They can recruit whoever they would like. All they would have to do is start a topic in the Clan Tryouts about asking for new members. Each team will also have a name that they make-up themselves.

Clans can pretty much do whatever they want with other clans. They can have a clan collab battle, where the whole clan comes up with one Splash Screen that they put up against the other clan's. They could also do 1v1 battles, where each person from one clan goes up against someone else in the other clan (it could be a sig battle, splash, wallpaper, etc...). Overall, there are a lot of fun things that could come out of this.

As for judges of the battles...it would have to be the public.

I hope we can get this here at Codex. It will bring a whole new 'journey' to the graphics section.

Thanks

-Jeff

EDIT: New idea/possible add-on?

I think to try and stop a 'domination clan', as Justin said, I think we can try to have different levels of competition, like Amateur, Intermediate, Pro. It's a chance to prevent a dominating clan but possibly a bit more difficult.

The different skill levels would have to be subforums in the tryouts section. The only problem I think this would bring up is having 'Pro' people trying to get into a lower level.

EDIT: Another little idea. It's hard to explain over the computer, so I'll just give an example.

If the clan's name is...hm...Graphics Soldiers...or something like that, they can edit their display name like...[GS]Jeff. Catch my drift? (lawl). So, the abbreviation can be added in their display name if they would like.

I think it's a good idea, a nice way to get others into graphics and raise the activity in the GFX section.

Sounds cool. But we have to watch out and make sure there isn't one dominating clan. And the judges would have to gfx experienced, since I don't wanna see people who don't know shit about graphics judging it.

Yeah, but you know there's going to be at least one clan who is dominating. Seeing that they would have to tryout for different clans. But yes, we should definitely watch for that.

This is a great idea! To help prevent one clan from dominating, you could have different levels of competition, where people(or clans) can earn points for every one they win, and you have to have so many points to compete in higher-level competitions, and you can only compete in your point bracket. That way people can't just compete against beginners and get more points/wins. That way, if you wanted to, you could have individual or clan rankings, so you can see who's the best.

Edit: Totally missed the bottom of your post. -feels stupid- x.x

Maybe for the different clan ranks you could make it like...people who aren't even members of the gfx team, then people that are, then the AGT. That way people with an AGT tag obviously aren't going to get into a clan thing, it's obvious they don't fit.

Just a thought, Ali's idea is awesome though anyways tongue.gif.

You could be a clan leader. That way, all the clans are mixed levels, so people from lower levels can get advice/tips from higher levels. Then you could have it so so many people of each level are in a clan, so they are balanced skill-wise. This would also help make the clans all about the same size, since you could limit the number of people.

I was thinking about that but there are hardly any AGT/GFX Leaders...

But pretty much anyone can start a clan...

I also thought of another thing. This is supposed to be for fun right? Well maybe it'll be hard to keep balance. Since most of the good sig makers tend to hang around with each other a lot. Its not fun if your not in the same clan as your friends.

Right tongue.gif If most of your friends are good sig makers, start a 'Pro' clan xD

btw, justin...you have 2,999 posts o.o

I'll make my own clan and be the only one in it. I'll also be a beginner clan. It'll be called "TEH WON MANGZ ARM-E"

And yeah I noticed. I was gonna do something special, but I'll just wait my 3000th post like this.

Good point. Maybe make it so that you have diffrent levels of individual events, but any clan events are a free-for all? Then if you do a point system, just award points for individual events. That way clans can still be groups of friends.

Justin 3000 posts is nothing. Pssh. I laugh at you.

And yeah, still think this should go ahead, it should at least be given a trial run or whatever, easy enough removed if it doesn't work out. I think we need a poll or something! tongue.gif.

Two clans, two leaders. Those leaders. Tet and Balmung, fighting for the greatest clan out there smile1.gif

Despite the jibberish I just stated above, I think its a great idea =D
