Ok my mp3 has recently been destroyed. so i am looking for a new media player. i have narrowed it down to an ipod or Zune. i am leaning towards a zune but i am not sure yet.

Can u guys give me ur opinions of both and ur suggestion too? Also if u have another media player in mind please post it.

i am open to all comments.

Zune = shit. Deciding factor? The iPod's touch controls over the Zune's push button through 1324134 items. NTY.

iPod = pretty much your best choice.

Apples got the innovative design. .They have the most simplistic and beautiful ideas. I love the iPod look, the sound quality is always great. And ive watched atleast 50 hours of friends (not on the same charge) on my friends iPod They are great..

Zunes on the other hand = The installation software hasnt worked on alot of computers. You have a chance of getting gay porn pre loaded in it and you get a complete rip off of all the other companys designs.

Just the iPod's design is enough for me to say go with the iPod.
Like mentioned before, you can easily scroll through songs and artists with the iPod's touch controls. With the Zune, you have to keep hitting the up button (on the poorly recreated version of iPod's touch wheel). You may be able to hold it in and scroll faster, but I'm not sure on that. The iPods layout has a sleek, clean feel to it. The Zunes layout looks complicated and a little bulky to me. I've only played around with the Zune for about five minutes in Staples, though, so I can only base my opinion on the design.

Here's what I say and you could take my word because I own both an ipod and zune:

The zune has basically all the features you'll be using on an ipod, plus a few extra ones like bigger screen and wifi. Wifi has potential, but for now it's totally useless.. especially for me, since I'm one of the rare ones in Canada who owns a zune. But the screen is usefull. Watching a video on the zune is much more convenient then on the ipod... you'd be surprised on the difference it makes. the interface for the zune is much sexier then the one on the ipod.. the background is changable and everything looks pretty smooth.

Now, for the battery life, iPod wins, but just by a little.. and I'm guessing this is because of the screen size... if you don't watch many videos, the battery life will treat you well.

So ultimately... I say go with the zune.. not much to lose, more to gain.. except for maybe style.. as everyone knows, ipods are everywhere and considered stylish.. I personally find my brown zune as sexy as an ipod.

Oh and little last point is that the zune pracically doesn't get scratched, compared to the ipod who is inlove with scratches from the moment you take it out the box.

Eh, I say go with an iPod, built well, work well, and they are stylish... Zunes are nice, but I don't really like their looks and interface, though when it comes to functionality, they may win over a bit, but both with work great for music and videos.

ipod ftw got a ipod and it kicks ass ... i was think of getting the zune because i like microsoft ( only because of xbox 360 ) and i did some research and i read on a forum that the songs u transfer u can only use them for 2 mabbe 3 days before u have to buy the song. dunno if thats true or not. somethink will take ipod over soon but

Get a Zen.

iPod's are overrated and have nothing but podcasts & the scroll wheel.
Zune is new and will suck until Microsoft can make it reach it's full potential.

Zen is pretty old, and still runs strong. I like the scroll pad on the Zen because I dont have the volume constantly change when it's in my pocket (I don't like Hold cuz I'm too lazy to charge the battery and it wears it out).






BTW, the background of an iPod is editable, check out something called iPodWizard.

iPods arent overrated...The only thing that would make them overrated is the fact that people believe they are the best thing ever because "OMFG IT PLYAZ TEH MI 5 SONGS IN MI ITUNES LIBARY AND I NEEDZ AN 80 KIGABITE SO I CANZ HOLD 1 MRE! LOL"

Other than that. The design, the interface, and the quality > anything.

I love how most people here that say Zunes suck, don't actually own one. Really, get whatever you want... There's really no difference between MP3 players other than size and the amount of shit it can hold. Get whatever you want... Though if I had to say, I'd get a Zune. I love it. The only reason I still have my iPod is because of the iTunes only videos that I bought. But I just love the way the zune looks.

Feature wise the Zune kicks the Ipods ass.

Their is nothing that the ipod can do software side that the zune can't do. The zune however has a interface that can be easily modified, has a built in FM tuner, also has WiFi.
