You make it sound like having a gay parent is worse than having a straight parent. Think about it this way; if a child were brought up by gay parents they would be instantaneously taught to be tolerant and accepting of people. I think they should not allow republicans to reproduce.

Dude, like wow. It's pretty obvious that even if the parents wouldn't tell the kid to become gay there would be some pressure for the kid to become gay. Like father like son. The apple never falls far from the tree.

And how do you think a gay kid feels in a straight home?

There are 7 kids at my school with gay parents. No one gives them any shit about it. Our generation is much more accepting then past generations.

I know a person who has lesbian parents, and even though she is actually straight.. she went lesbo for a few years to appeal to her mom, until she just couldn't stand it.

Just like I spent 16 years of my life as a straight man in my parents eyes and even purposely got caught with my hands down a girl's pants in an effort to please them. The same issues apply to any family environment - kids want to please their parents and have them keep loving them. It is the parents responsibility to tell the child that they will love them no matter what happens.

The emotional life a person would lead coming from a gay/lesbian life wouldn't be that great. Outcasted and shunned. Not a better alternative imo, but you could decide that for yourself.

Well, I'm sorry to say but I think it's better for a child to have straight parents. Having gay parents can lead them to discrimination in the future. It's like ruining a kid's life. Being gay isn't normal, you claim it to be a "mutation". It shouldn't be treated as normal either, and letting them have kids? I say no.
Since for me it clearly seems like a choice, I say when someone chooses to be gay they should know the consequences of their actions.
My opinions.

It could be argued though that some gays want children more then they want their prefered sexual partner. You certainly hear about men and women who have been in families before outing themselves. Sure, the fact that gays can adopt might not actually turn people gay, but it might mean that more people who already were will be upfront about it.
Edit: 3500th post.

Then again, I could be getting ahead of myself here, but you get the point.

I'm saying your average person would probably rather have a straight parent than a gay parent.

The difference is, straight parents have no control over whether their biological child is a homosexual.
However, a gay couple are likely going to adopt a straight child, although the chances are probably the same as in a hetero relationship regarding whether or not the child is also homosexual. Thing is, they have the choice of whether to subject their straight child to that environment.

I'm traumitized now. He still hasn't told me he's gay he just thinks a moron but I'm not.
It pretty much ruined my life knowing I had a gay father in my teens when I really needed a father figure the most.
I've had to grow up at an early age.
