Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury, it has political undertones to it and you'll prolly have to read it in high school sooner or later so you may as well learn the material early wink.gif

Pikachu: I chose you! {Pokemon chapter books #1)

lol but seriously i'm surprised how many people here have such a interest in books, i tend to get bored and tired of the author's continuous style of writing and then drop the book. if you really want to escape reality and get involved with a story, why not watch a movie? i hardly ever read, but art of war as redlion said is a great read (the art of war).

i really don't understand the big hype about TKAMB. i've read the book, i saw the movie and i was unimpressed. there was truly no high point in the movie, it dragged on with the same shit throughout the whole thing. want to experience a story which tackles racism and stereotypes? watch american history x.

    edit; fixed suxxy grammar

I wasn't referring to the book you suggested, if I were, I would have quoted you.

I was speaking generally, on the terms of what I usually look for in books.

Life of Pi - Yann Martel. It's fiction, but actually contains quite a lot of facts and stuff... and what's wrong with fiction anyways? I always prefer to be entertained then read about facts, and with this book it's kind of both, with of course more of entertainment.

Brookus - A Brief History OF Time - not IN time. tongue.gif

I'm in a philosophy of science class right now, woo, try Hegel. He's pretty easy to read. Philosophy of Natural Science is good.

Also Popper's the Logic of Scientific Discovery.

If you want more of a challenge, maybe Aristotle's Posterior Analytics. I'm sure with something that intense your teacher would allow you to have excerpts.

And politics are boring. But Life of Pi's good! woot metaphysics and state of the philosophical and religious world, that's pretty political. Actually Life of Pi would be pretty killer for a philosophical AND political view, not so much philosophy of politics though.

    1984 or Animal Farm.

Seriously, George Orwell is like God among men. Well probably like a Buddah rank or something. Still..
