MILWAUKEE - A 28-year-old mother was arrested after her 6-year-old daughter tipped police off to her drug dealing ways.

The girl was interviewed by police Friday after her father reported she had been hit in the face with a curling iron while visiting her mother earlier in the week, Milwaukee Police Capt. Darlene Jenkins said.

Jenkins said the girl was wise to her mother's cocaine dealing, telling them she chops up a white substance, puts it in bags and takes them — and the girl — to alleys. There, people gave the mother money for the bags, police said the girl recounted.

The mother of four was arrested after police found 55 bags of cocaine worth about $20 each at the woman's home.

She was being held Saturday pending charges of child abuse and possession with intent to sell, Jenkins said.

I suppose those lectures you receive in school about reporting drug abuse do pay off. It is unsettling to see people having to grow up in such unsavory environments.

What a great mother dry.gif. If parents only took their job a little more seriously, the world would be a much better place and most if not all behavioral problems would be solved.

How sad. Why would you ever hit your own child with a curling iron? On top of that, she takes her child on drug deals in alleys.

I'm agreeing with Cody on this one. It takes a lot to support 4 kids.

Starting drug-dealing in the first place and bringing her kid to where she sells the stuff. What a stupid mom dry.gif Excluding rape, I think all women should think if they're going to be fit mothers or not before having kids.

It's good that the girl reported her mom, her life would of been messed up even more if she grew up with that. Mom would of probably forced her to do drug dealings.

If you think it is acceptable to take a young, impressionable child into a dank back-alley of some godforsaken hole of a town in order to sell drugs, then all I can say is that it's a good job you'll never have kids of your own.

Many families can get by without resorting to selling drugs, even if they do have four kids.
Besides which, even if they are forced to sell drugs to get by (which in reality is impossible, there's always an alternative), there is still no excuse for taking the child(ren) along for the ride!

What's the point in making money to support your kids, if they get stabbed by some hobo looking for a fix?

Fundamental human right not to be deprived of the ability to reproduce unless by choice. While I don't necessarily believe some people deserve children, I do belive in the right to make the choice to keep them rather than forced to abort or be sterilized.
6 year old home alone is far less dangerous than being taken to a drug deal in my opinion. A 6 year old home alone still knows basic safety, and would likely not actually endanger themselves if it were only say 15 minutes if entertained by tv for example. Taking a kid into a situation like a drug deal however poses such a huge amount of risks (I dare anyone to oppose that point seriously), that it's far better to have the kid home alone that where she was taken.

As to what the girl did, the kid is smart really. Chose to tell to ensure she was taken away from that environment rather than lie or avoid the questions as kids can easily do, and stay with a mother who obviously doesn't take good care of her.

I am pro autosterilization of anyone with a tested IQ under 120. Would do wonders for the gene pool IMO.

You also have to think about the little girl physiologically though. Having to see that when you’re that young is not an easy thing to deal with.
