what do you guys think about inflating an item or items? if so what items?
i know people have tried to inflate in the past. But if we could organize an item to inflate and hold of for awhile so that everyone could profit. I have some items in mind. but ill see what you guys think about this idea.. im not too sure either.

I don't think we're allowed to discuss inflating items here at Neocodex...I could be wrong though.

Hydro said it's fine, inflate away. tongue.gif

Neopets has so many users that it makes it pretty difficult to inflate most of the widely available items, it's much easier on smaller pet sites where you could inflate/deflate any item single handedly in a few hours. tongue.gif

I think it can be discussed, but not actually planning to inflate an item.

Inflating would be a great plan if it was you and a few super rich friends in which none of you would sell early and reap the rewards. Its a very tough process, and usually isn't successful.

I wouldn't suggest trying it 1we8.gif. Not only is it a very hard thing to do, but it's also against the rules and could end up getting you frozen or all the items you bought deleted.

    Q. My friends and I have been purchasing all the Dr. Sloth Costumes and then jacking up the price. Is that okay?
    A. No, you cannot conspire with others to corner the market in an item and then artificially raise the price. This is called price fixing which violates Neopets' Terms and Conditions. If we detect this, we will either freeze all the players involved in the conspiracy or delete all the items they are hoarding. However, in anticipation of a war or other event, you can, by yourself, purchase unlimited quantities of an item in the expectation the price will rise. This is called price speculation, which is fine.

    Found here.

You still run the risk of getting frozen/getting all the items you bought deleted, and at 900 million you could just live off the interest you get from the bank. tongue.gif

I know someone who intended on making an account, cheating like hell to get as much as possible, buy up as many codestones with that np and wait to get frozen, just to piss players off because with enough money and enough codestones out of the market, you could inflate them hugely.

And if you repeat with items that dont drop regularly, you can indefinately inflate the market. And just do that with multiple accounts, there goes the market xD.

Haha that's pretty mean tongue.gif. Imagine how much that person could've made during a war if they decided to sell them instead ohmy.gif.
