I was just wondering, who all here goes tanning in a tanning bed or something like that?

I have been going for about 3 weeks this upcoming Tuesday and have been very happy with how tan I am getting very quickly, however I am somewhat worried about skin cancer.

The beds seem to be the most relaxing thing of all time haha.

Any advice from anyone too?

    Don't tan.
Tanning beds are really nothing but trouble to your skin. Advances aging like wrinkles and puts you at HIGH risk for skin cancers.

I don't tan. I'm white and plan to stay that waaay.
I actually tanned for only two months out of my whole life...I looked like a middle easterner and looking back it was disgusting....I'm a white girl ahhahaha.

Oh I know it does all of that, but with a smallish tan I look a lot better. I do not want to be really dark at all or anything. The main reason I like to tan so much is because of the relaxing aspect of it. I go to college with a ton of people who tan all the time to, and in Ohio its hard to be tan all year round unless you do go tanning lol.

Another reason I have been tanning, is the fact that I plan to work outside all summer and MUST have a base tan lol.

He is a ginger kid that dyes his hair and wears make up (to cover the freckles).

Me, tanning, never. I'm tan right now though, I just got back from Mexico o.o

    Lol a ginger kid...haha.

Dude, honestly if I could gain a natural tan right now, I would. The weather here has been about 40 degrees everyday except for the past week, so what am I suppouse to do?

The other negative aspect about paying to tan is the fact that it is $20 a month. That seems like a lot to me right now, I can easily afford it but it kind of seems like a vice that I do not need to be spending cash on haha

Im pale, although I want to just get rid of the total pale look this summer, but idk if I will. Tanning beds are really bad for your skin. Its concentrated UV rays, and it can cause cancer really quickly.

Not a big fan of skin cancer not gonna tan in tanning beds. I always get tanned naturally in the summer just by going to the beach or playing soccer smile.gif

Haha, this Ginger thing is cracking me up. I haven't heard anyone use that term since I was back in high school.

Isn't everyone around you tan there? I think that would bother me and that is half of the reason I tan now. Spring is here though, and everyone is attempting to get a tan for summer. The place I got tanning has 20+ beds, and I still have to wait almost everytime because so many people are tanning. We will probably all have skin cancer in the next couple of years, how depressing of a thought.

Anyhow, it does have a nice affect on my happyness level too haha. The body creates Viatmin D while absorbing those UV rays, which basically can eradicate depression, not that I ever have much of a problem with that.

Another thing I have noticed is that after I tan for about 20 mins, I'm tired for the rest of the day, it like drains my energy. That is probably a bad sign.

Well I guess it can be somewhat peer pressure haha, I got to a private college with a bunch of rich snobs, and everyone kind of feels the need to look a like. We have a click going on to. On top of that I'm a Law major so all my law classes are like snobfests.

Oh and I forgot to mention that I'm bi, so I present you all with a question, have you ever seen a pale gay guy in your life? They all tan. You have to look hot in order to get what you want haha

What about pink tags? I'm very confused haha

Maybe I'm just weird but I can have friends no matter what my skin tone. You don't have to be tan to be awesome. && if people don't like my non-tanness they can fuck off.

It is the whole networking thing. The people I go to school with have parents that are very influential in the future law firms I am going to work for hehe :-) .

College is more than just books, especially if you plan to go to an ivy league graduate school.
