Was it longer than 5 minutes ago? If it was, then I hadn't boosted the limit/stopped background junk yet.
I'm pissed off though, because part of the reason that we bought semi-dedicated was so we could run cron jobs a bit more often and I even have it set to 10 minutes and it's still causing problems.

Maybe a dedicated server is the way to go
It was longer than five minutes ago, I think it was closer to 10 by now.
I know I've said it several times, but in my last 200-300 posts I know I have not, and if I have, I probably typed something else afterwards.

No worries.... at least I don't have to disable part of the board to get the server load back down.

Well, it's not the limitations unless you count hardware limitations (as we're free to use the server's resources as there's only 3 other sites on the same box). We'd have to get a better server altogether (with more processor, ram, etc...). What we have is fine for multiple projects like hosting other sites, forums and stuff, but not jobs we have to run every 5 to 10 minutes 24 hours a day.

Are you fricken retarded? All I have seen from you is one line posts. My posts are clearly longer. Just take a look around. I don't reply with 3-5 word posts as you have been doing.

Oh, well.... we just set limits so the server doesn't blow up on us. It's happened before that if we let the load go too high, it causes the whole server to go down and that means more downtime, which means we get an e-mail from the host.
I think the best thing to do here is to just ignore the other person (likewise Lemonblood). The staff members will judge what is spam and what isn't.

ROFL- Were a ton of people cranky at you? Or just the host when you managed to take down the server.

yeah that's exactly what i meant, shared might bring about problems with a website with codex's activity but semi-dedicated really should be fine

Well, before what happened was that our site would get disabled and then the host would bark at us for a while until we fixed our scripts.... and our site gets re-enabled about 48 hours later. This happened three times in the past, so I was getting pretty sick of it.

Same Here.
You really should view more topics, then.
Whatever, I REALLY don't care what you think of me.

That doesn't sound like fun. Having a host bark at you and all

"Same here" -- And you say that my posts are too short???? What the heck is going on in your mind.
I view all the topics, I'll get to one of your two lined posts eventually.
Whatever, your problem.

If we barked back, we'd be barking off to a new server, which we do not want to do because we like the host we have right now.

My debates aren't really debates. I prefer getting dirty while doing it, with a hint of flaming. Iruleatants was a fun experience.
You hooligan, screwing things up -shakes fist-
