Your take? I'm all for legalizing it. Doesnt matter if sports want to endorse them or not, its not our business.

People assume performance enhancing drugs are going to make you get cancer. The facts are simple, there hasnt been one documented death in the United States ever where the cause of death was steroids. Now, I'm not advocating the use of steroids in teens. That stuff can mess you up if you have insanely high test levels. But if your a 35 year old man, and take them correctly, you can benefit from the many benefits if you put the effort into it.

Both of these guys below are juicers. But there are differences. The former of the two is a genetic freak, to put it lightly. He just found his potential and began using. The latter of the two, however, is the same age, yet hes not a freak? This is the kinda crap people spew out. That somehow your going to be insanely huge from roids, or something like that. That you dont have to do as much. Sad truth? You work three times as hard. AAS speeds up recovery time, not your gain of muscle. There are guys who have taken roids for years, skinny guys and fat guys, and yet all the difference is that they look bloated and have higher benchpress/powerlifting records.

Yeah i dont really care about this really. But... if it is agains tthe rules for sports or somekind of physical something then it should stay that way, but among other things it should be legal and i dont think that anybody should care of the medical problems because... you take it at your own risk. Maybe pharmacies should just give them out if you sign something saying whatever if you die it is not the medicine's/the pharmaceutical company's fault. I know a few people on steriods and believe it or not they aren't really that big.

In the words that I quote from South Park Steroids are Baaad. lol no Seriously there is good and bad in everything and if you legalize it not only will the adults have it but the teens will also and you have to be able to try and protect the younger of the two.

The only steroid use I approve would be for men and women who have AIDs or other diseases like it because in their cases it's important to have a greater muscle mass.

Yeah, steroid abuse will do that. But its definitely a good thing to check and make sure you aren't abusing. Blood work should be done before, after, and in between a cycle of any sort.

No, it'll reduce the size of your balls and make them look shrivled if you go on a really long cycle though. Honestly, I think alcohol is worse.

But the worst effect of roids by far is bitch tits. lol.

They should be legalized in everything but professional sports. These guys are shattering the old records with ease because they are taking the steroids. It does affect your muscle gain, either directly or indirectly I don't care. If you want to take steroids for bodybuilding or casual sports, fine. Honestly though, if guys need to take steroids in professional sports, they shouldn't be playing professionally anyway.

Actually, one of our good friends just died of a roids related death. He juiced for years and finally won Mr. Texas in '99. After that he laid off, but he was still jacked. Died of a massive heart attack on Tuesday. The autopsy said he had an enlarged heart, which is often a symptom of roids.

Anabolic steroids can produce numerous physiological effects including increases in protein synthesis, muscle mass, strength, appetite and bone growth. Anabolic steroids have also been associated with numerous side effects when administered in excessive doses and these include elevated cholesterol (increase in LDL, decreased HDL levels), acne, elevated blood pressure, hepatotoxicity, and alterations in left ventricle morphology.

The last one is the only one you need concern with. The man was only in his mid thirties, and he was in tremendous physical condition, except for his heart. Apparently, once he was off the AAS, his heart just couldn't keep up with the muscles he had made.

Good point, but if he won Mr. Texas then he was probably juicing a lot rather than short cycles like Athean is talking about.

I don't know why someone would really want to take steroids with how they make you feel :\ Maybe this is a different type but I had to take short term steroids for a bad bee sting that had swollen my feet and I felt like shit. I couldn't sleep nor could barely eat beyond force feeding for a week. I felt like I was on a big speed rush like when I was on ADD meds when I was a kid. It was horrible! xD

Anyways... I think it's...okay. I think it should really only be used for medical reasons still though. But like red mentioned we almost can't have it sold beyond medical reasons because it has such bad side effects. I mean they took effedrine off the market so... I see it as sort of the same thing. If it's causing people really bad physical symptoms then I can't see a doctor perscribing that to someone over a long period of time. I just can't see any doctor risking their patient like that, you know?

Why not to use steroids if you're a female:

    That and facial hair.

Yeah, to even GET heart symptoms you have to abuse it a lot...that or low to moderate abuse combined with heredity problems. There are people in their fifties, sixties, even seventies that have used AAS since it was formed, and havent had side effects.

But that does suck. What I do question, however, is how long was his cycle? if it was like 6-8 weeks once or twice a year, thats fine, but using them for so long causes all the problematic effects such as bloating and what not.
