As many of you may know, a few months ago I enlisted in the U.S Army.
For those who can understand.
My MOS is 11B (advanced infantry). After basic and AIT i will be assigned to the 118th.

I am a republican. A moderate republican, but a republican still the same.

Lets start off with a story.

My Platoon Sargent has done 3 tours in Iraq. One with the Marine Corp and 2 with the Army. He has told us all about how easy it is too kill when being shot at. But he also told us about a van who sped up to a check point and opened its doors and out came a five year old boy. The boy walked past the "no go" zone were the soldiers are supposed to open fire and stop the targets advancement. Well as you could guess, the detail did not have the heart to shoot. The boy got closer and put his hands and his pockets and pulled out a grenade. Pulled the pin and killed himself, along with killing one soldier and injuring 3.

Now the purpose of that story is to show you the shit soldiers fight over there. The stupid shit that those insurgents do. They hid behind civilians and they hid weapons in Muslim religious centers. Now I hear people at my school. I hear the Iraqi news reports. I hear about how our soldiers are so cruel and how we rape and kill civilians. Listen to this mother fuckers. I am a soldier. I know many soldiers. I know the type of people they are, and they are not rapists or murders. Why would terrorists hid behind civilians? Because they know we wont shoot. Why hid in weapons in muslim masks (spelling?). Because we are carefull were we shoot. We are compassionate.

Now a rant to the other mother fuckers who feel they have to defend us. "oh bush is sending soldiers to die for oil" I don't give a fuck why bush thinks we should be there. I KNOW we should be there because of 7,000 innocent women, children and elderly who were killed by a communist regime. I know we should be there because of the 5 year old boy who blew himself up, and for the fucking vagina bitches who told him to do it. Here I am telling you to stop with the whining about soldiers dieing. We know its bad, we mourn more than you do. But the brave men who died did it because they wanted to fight for their country. "Our country right or wrong" There was no draft. They CHOSE to enter. We don't want pity. We want your pride and support.

Know this. Who cares why bush "went to war". The soldiers went to war because the world is not safe when you have countries with a society that promotes dangerous communism. What happens now that Saddam is dead and Iraq pulls a Germany. They fall into extream poverty and civil war, and a "savior" like Hitler rises up and says he will fix everything. The undereducated Iraqi people will fall for it and BAMB another dangerous Communist country. FUCK THAT.

That is my rant. I live and drill with soldiers who feel the same as me. The most common words that come out of their mouth is "fuck liberals". So I say it for them. The men who fight and die so you can enjoy the freedoms that America offers.

    Hoorah.

This whole blood for oil thing is such a joke...how does us getting oil 4 years from now help any of the current administration? It doesn't.

I pray that your tour goes well and thanks for fighting for our country.

I'm against the Iraq war in a sense, but to say we should just pull out right now is absolutely ridiculous.

"A saviour like Hitler will rise up, and Iraq will become another Communist country"
    *giggle*

Anyway, as far as the war goes, you Americans can do whatever the hell you want, so long as you leave my country out of it.
I want UK troops home, I couldn't care less about American ones.

I hardly think it's fair to classify all 'liberals' as anti-war "dick heads"...

I consider myself to be fairly liberal but I don't disagree with the choice to go to war with Afghanistan or Iraq, I also wouldn't argue too much against going to war with Zimbabwe at the moment because it would be the right thing to do. So while i'm not a big fan of George W. Bush, that's got absolutely nothing to do with his choice to go to war and drag us into it but rather just because he's a idiot and i feel that HIS actual reasons for going to war were not to help the Iraqi or Afghan people but rather for his own motives (i.e. Revenge for 9/11 and his daddy almost getting assassinated and oil).

    "dick head"... dry.gif

Oh, and even when the Americans 'pull out' of Iraq they won't leave them entirely to their own devices, there'll still be thousands of American troops there for years to come.

Well, war's always a tough issue, but everyone's entitled to their opinions, and shouldn't be called a dick head for doing so. My opinion is that this war is wrong, not what the public wanted (in Britain anyway, we were dragged into it in the same way Tony Blair gets dragged up Dubya's arse) and it is a case of blood for oil . Having said that, none of that is the fault of the troops out there fighting; so whilst they are over there, we should support them.

Well, way to lose yourself some respect. We're supposed to give you support if your attitude is "fuck liberals"? How about no. I think our soldiers are great (in large part...) and I don't hold anything against them for what's going on over there. I think the war is a waste of money and is being commanded poorly but that's neither here nor there. If you were trying to prove some sort of grand point you failed at the moment you called the target audience "liberal dick heads".

I'm not even truly a liberal, I'm all for war. I'm just for a meaningful and well fought one, which this most certainly is not.

If the most common thing out of soldiers mouths, as you say, is "fuck liberals", well, I can't say I'm any more inspired to take your side. If that's the kind of discipline they have then I'm glad they are there and not here.

Who cares if we're taking oil? We need it anyway, so until you all stop using the oil we get, shut your fucking mouths. Everyone assumes I'm against shit because I'm liberal, but I was actually pro-war when it started (I'm not so much anymore). Good for you Sonic - it's an honor to have someone who is dedicated serving America.

Just for the record, most Americans are against the war but they still pray for the troops. Supporting Troops and Supporting the War are two different things.

I agree that we should take the troops out, but not just yank them out of Iraq. If there were some way to pull the troops out and make sure Iraq doen't implode on itself, I would fully support it. I just wish Iraq didn't seem like a lose-lose situation sad.gif

I thank all the troops for making sure we keep our freedom. I'll never support the war, but I'll always support our troops.

So why don't you invade every other country where terrible shit goes on. I could give you a list with like 20 countries, maybe we could all invade them to try and help them, bankrupt our country even more. Sound like a great idea? I'm for it, why not. It is our duty after all. Lets keep invading countries, ruining our reputation and worldwide stance, bankrupting our country, etc etc.

And that dangerous communism, threatening western countries everywhere. We have to be careful or one day America will turn communist! China is communist and look how much business it has, and we even do business with them, and their economy is soon to be larger than ours. Your fear of communism is just indoctrinated. I'm not saying it's good and I do not support it but it shouldn't be a reason you use.

And how is fighting in Iraq protecting American freedoms?
If anything, during the fighting in Iraq, and during this administration, our freedoms have been TAKEN away.

You're not fighting to protect our country, have you heard anything about Bin Laden? Last I heard he was responsible and last I heard he was not caught or even mentioned lately. You're fighter for Bush's reasons, not for our country.

Just because you joined the army and think you're doing the right and honorable thing, doesn't mean it makes you right.
There are other ways to help innocent people and protect america against the "scary" communist countries rather than joining the army and shooting people.

Anyway, I support the brave troops that are fighting for us and their own beliefs. Like Sonic said, maybe Bush can't give a reason to be there, but it's hard to deny that there is one.

I find it funny though how all the English people here don't care about America or American troops, and would rather stay out of it, but back in WWII, we saved them from Hitler. We sent about $31billion of supplies for G.B. use and joined the war in EUROPE first even though Japan was the cause of our involvement. Churchill called on America, and we responded by turning the tides of the war, yet now G.B. doesn't care to help us tongue.gif

germany hasn't been under communist regime in probably about 70++ years, and hitler certainly wasn't one for it. one of his key standings was that he was anti-communism.

tbh you're really making yourself sound like a typical no-brain soldier thinking you're any better than these iraqis simply because you're from america and that you have a gun. these people aren't idiots, neither were the people of germany who "fell for it".

i wouldn't be surprised if the average IQ of a run of the mill iraqi citizen was higher than the one of a us soldier thumbsup.gif

You make it sound like it's the troops choice to invade wherever the hell they want. They didn't choose to invade Iraq. Bush made them go over there. Don't blame the troops for bankrupting our country. They're just told where to invade by the president. If you must blame someone, blame Bush. He's the one that made the decision to invade Iraq in the first place

If it wasn't for the troops, we wouldn't be free. We gained our freedom from the Declaration of Independance and the Revolutionary War. If we had lost the revolutionary war and other wars after that, who knows what our country would be like. We wouldn't be free, that's for sure. And how exactly have our freedoms been taken away? If there was a draft, you'd be right, but all the soldiers in Iraq right now are there because they VOLUNTEERED. They knew what they were getting into before signing up. They knew they were putting there lives on the line, but they did it to protect and insure that America's freedom is kept safe. Sure we're a huge and powerful country, but that's partly due to the wars we've won. We won the wars because of our troops.

Sure they're fighing under Bush's reasons, but that dosn't at all mean they're not fighting for our country. Bush sent them there to protect our country, to do what he thinks is best so technically, they are fighting for our country. I think what he thinks is best is stupid, but he's the president so I can't do anything about it.

Could you at least give our troops some respect? They're out there dying right now so we keep our freedom. I agree that it doen't make someone right if someone joins the army, but like I've said, that's not their choice. When you join the army, you're most likely gonna shoot some people to protect or country. If you don't want to shoot people, don't join the army! Sure there are other ways to protect innocent people, but "joining the army and shooting people" has worked pretty well for the last 300 some years(going back to the 1700s).
