when i really think about it i honestly can say i just don't care if a god exists or not. even if i had some sort of epiphany, i'd really just consider it a burden..like "ugh now i have to worship god sad.gif". i do argue just for the sake of conversation when it comes to religion, usually just to play devil's advocate but when it all boils down i just dont care lol.

discuss jesus stuff

dont have much time to write up a long post cause i gtg now and i'll post more thoughts later writing on psp now

Yes. Because if He didn't, then my life would end up in a shallow grave being eaten by worms. On the other hand, since He does exist, I know that life continues beyond here.

i believe God exists, and even *if* He didn't, Jesus was still a badass. cool.gif

i think the thing that pisses me off is i have friends that are atheist (and other that are just stupid without a reason) and sometimes they'll just go around and be like "bark God"...

and really, it's like, okay. Christians don't go around calling Buddha a "stupid fatass", or things like that, so why does almost every other religion (and "non-religion" for you atheists/agnostics) have to bash on Christianity?

Eh, I guess I don't care either. I'm not against religion, but I don't have any myself... though I do belief there's probably a higher being, I don't know about all this worship and God stuff. I don't really care either... smile.gif

Why attribute the credits for your success on a God? Why not that of your parents or yourself? Life is what you make of it, and despite what you read in an ancient book, there very well may not be life after death - so make the most out of your life and make it good.

not to mention it would be somewhat neglectful for him to help your family get a nicer lexus but ignore the millions of starving/sick people in africa

I don't think its a big deal at all. I consider myself an omnitheist but I don't have the need to worship any particular god although sometimes i feel I should. I'm just meh about this subject.

I care if God exists, but unlike many religion followers I don't constantly worship and I don't pray to get my test grades up. I am not the greatest person in that sense, but I do care. Some things that I have thought about or that have happened make me believe in God.
For the longest time I was atheist, but something in my life really changed that, something that not even I could make sense of. Not a miracle, just something that wouldn't end up matching normally as two fitting pieces of a puzzle in my life. Something that gave me comfort when there was none available.
Now, I personally believe that you should live life to the best of your ability and help others as much as possible. I don't think that God always interacts or that He needs to. I think that sometimes He just watches the outcome of His eventual creations and destructions. I don't see why He can't create things to make their own path while still leaving them the opportunity to connect. Basically, I don't think you should rely entirely on God, but rely on yourself and others, He isn't a tool.

It is good to be kind to your God and show Him that you appreciate him, but he made the universe so that it could run. Killing others due to their religion is wrong, even if they don't believe in the same God or deities as you.

This is a very hard question for me to answer. I'm sort of a semi-believer of God. By that, I mean I only believe in God at certain times. Like when my brother was in the hospital and he was getting life or death surgery (he has spina bifida, so he's had life or death surgery about 6 times now. For those of you who don't know what spina bifida is, think of Christopher Reeve. My brother has a minor version of that, so he can't feel his feet or half of his calves. Because of this, he has to wear leg braces and can only walk for a limited amount of time), I prayed because I felt like that was the best thing I could do for him. Besides that, I don't really pray, I haven't been to church since I was 5 (10 years ago), and I haven't touched the Bible in years. So I guess my answer is both yes and no. I care if he exists when I need him (and that's usually only in situations involving my brother or something similar to that), but on a daily basis I don't. That's really the best answer I can give to be honest.

I kind of care, but I just have a deep hatred of organised religions which are ignorant enough to claim that they have found the one and only god, and that people who don't believe in their god are going to suffer eternal damnation.

If a god existed I would care that it leaves millions to suffer and die while a minority enjoy vast riches all in the name of 'free will', but alas I don't believe and am proud of that fact.

It's a matter of faith. I personally believe that some things in my life were too coincidental that it was astronomically impossible naturally. Yes, these things could have naturally occurred but I choose to believe that some divine forced helped me to be happy in my life. Why does success have to be material? Have you thought that MAYBE just maybe he was talking like I am of not material wealth of material success but instead spiritual happiness and the fortunate love of your friends and family. So yes, of course I care because I truly believe I would be dead if he didn't.

This seems sort of interesting to me but dose anyone here not believe in the anthropomorphized western vision of God. Or when you guys refer to god do you mean the GOD of the Bible.

I guess your right. Knowing your brother could die at any second during surgery and me caring about him is pretty selfish, right? And I guess shitting in your pants and possibly losing a loved one is practically the same thing, right?

selfish believer, as in you only pray to god when you are in times of crisis. you ignore and neglect God until you need something done for you, and when that happens you expect it to ensue. i never compared your dying brother to my poopie pants, just that we treat God similarly smile.gif
