I like driving standard, though I've only done it a few times. The only thing that gets me nervous is people people me on a hill.

    Manual, automatics are really not popular over here so probably 90%+ are manual here (and we drive on the correct side of the road).

    I don't drive yet but I'm gonna be driving an automatic. It's easier it's simpler and everyone else drives it too - so whats the point of getting a Manual =P

    Manual and I cannot believe you are like:

    'I gotta get someone to teach me' I mean, its not that hard to put clutch down and change gear. Here is an equation:

    Rev counter > 2 change gear! Easy! tongue.gif

    I know! You'd have to be pretty lazy to drive an automatic..

    Thing is, if you pass in a manual you can drive both, pass in an auto and you can only drive auto sad.gif Why not get a reliant robin? You don't even need a license for those!

    It's not that easy really. I mean honestly, I have never seen anyone go from an automatic to a standard without a few days practice. The hardest part is going into gear 1 when your stopped. The first few times I tried it I killed the car tongue.gif After that you gotta get used to watching the RPM and what gear you're in plus learning to switch gears and take corners simultaneously. Just takes practice tongue.gif

    Watch the RPM? Just listen to the engine wind up, shiyett...corner, drop it to 2nd and turn...not hard!

    At first I hated driving a stick, but since I've had a few month of driving everyday and it being my only car, I like it a lot more. Its cheaper when buying a car to get a manual, it gets better gas mileage, You have more control over the car, and it makes you pay attention to the road a little more.

    Well when I get a car(most likely this summer), it'll be automatic. I'm really not interested in learning how to drive stick to be honest.

    Automatic. I know I should be learning how to drive a manual for emergency situations maybe but... my mom and dad won't let me touch their precious jag and BMW xD I did try it once though in Gene's car but it was pretty hard to get used to sad.gif He taught himself and I'm sure I could be able to teach myself it'd just take a lot of practice to get the feel of it. Haha, even driving my first time in an automatic it was scary tongue.gif Though it doesn't help that it was a ford taurus 97 model and it's really long and doesn't have a good turn radius >_< Right now though while I still drive that car whenever possible I try to drive the Honda Element we have. I truly think it's the best car I've driven biggrin.gif ...not saying much but ;_;
