I thought you were going to bitch about their hardware for a bit there.
Interesting read, I hope I never have to go through that.

if you think vista's bad, lets all see how bad vienna will be LMAO
talk is that they are going to extent the DEP to a full sandbox approach, all unsigned applications will not be allowed to interact with any part of the OS layer (like what they've done with certain parts in vista - only more so apparently)
they are also taking away raw sockts, raw file accessing and raw access to all hardware (it's ALL going to be through the HAL - Hardware Abstraction Layer)
they're even talking about removing the taskbar, start button and everything else that people recognise when they see a windows build LOL
yey - doesn't it all sound so wonderful

If you download (I'm allowed to speak of this since he has bought windows vista) a custom made version of windows vista (ultimate perhaps?), aka a lite version of it, you will not have these types of problems most likely. Usually they have taken out windows defender and all sorts of annoying privacy invading stuff.

Linuckz. Pwnz.
I jsut spent 4 hours of my life trying to get my PC to boot after removing a video card. BIOS was a breeze. But Windows kept crashing. Even after I removed the card.
I seriously had to:
Boot to the card I wanted removed. Uninstall it. Reboot. Disable it. Reboot Install drivers for my other card. Shutdown, remove the card. Reboot. Install my new drivers AGAIN. It took four hours because I was just planning to remove it etc. At one point my BIOS gave up and I had to pull the CMOS battery.
Just FYI. I had to do the same in Linux. Only it was:
Plug the monitor into the other Card. Watch XServer fail. "sudo nano -B /etc/X11/xorg.conf". Change driver to "vesa". Took 10 minutes.

Vista sucks, their's absolutely no doubt about it. I takes a lot of memory, it makes it less convenient to use a computer that has it installed on, it makes your computer run slower, and it is made by microsoft.
I hate microsoft and I hate their annoying visual languages.
