Lee, actually I would never condone any kind of violence but violence against woman is particularly worse because of the fact that the majority of woman are physically weaker and less mentally prepared to defend themselves. Blame that on genetics, inherent traits, society, personal choice to be passive, but most of the time it is more severe for a man to hit a woman than for a man to hit another man.
But then I believe we've had this argument before and it ended up with you insulting my beliefs, and so I don't mind if you disagree with this.

I don't however think violenve is needed under any circumstance except to defend. Nothing a person does (unless you're attacked) deserves violence in return.

While, I completely agree with you.. I believe what he is trying to say is, that women are always screaming about how they should have equal rights and such, because men and women are equals. Well, if they believe this, then they must believe that a man should get the same punishment for hitting a girl as hitting a guy because we are equal.

Which makes complete sense, but I don't agree with.

I honestly don't know what I'd do in that situation, I'd probably very much want to hurt you. Violence has a place, revenge shouldn't be one of those places but is despite most people's better judgement.

So, to answer your question (in case you think I'm trying to get around answering you), I would hope I'd be the type of person who does not want to hurt someone who had severely wronged my family, but I'm sure I'd at least want to, however not likely to act on that want.

If I was there at the time however I'd consider it defence, so would be justified in injurying or even killing you. And the law backs that up.

You're friend told this girl she isnt getting her stuff back and YOU got arrested for theft and put in jail for a month and a week for that? Why wouldn't you just give it back and avoid that? Why would they give you so much time for that?

Um, I went to her house to return her stuff. It doesn't matter in the eyes of the court system what your intentions are after something has already been done.

Lets say you go to wal-mart grab a beer and take off running then when you notice that you are going to get caught you turn around and put the beer back where you got it.

Legally you attempted to steal the beer so they can and will charge you with theft.

The same situtation arises here, my friend told her she wasn't getting her stuff back, well as soon as he said that if the shit was on him he'd been charged with theft, but instead it was in my car so I had the property in my car so they charged me with theft. The prosecuter will most likely drop the charges when I talk to her but thats up to her and the judge.

They should be mailing me all the paperwork on the case, when I get it I'll scan the police report if its in there.

Not if the person you start wailing on was physically doing damage. Like if you come home and this guy is raping your mom and you push him off because she's screaming for help. He turns around pulls out a knife and comes at you. You can legally use the same amount of force to get him away. But you just have to have the self-control to stop stabbing/shooting after he is down or disabled.

We have that, it's called a citizen's arrest. You just can't use too much force to damage/injury the other party. I could take down a person with a gun by rugby tackling them to the ground and not be charged, but if I then repeatedly smashed his head against the floor, I would be charged with GBH/attempted murder.

I think if someone tries to kill you, you should be able to kill them... barking proper thing Like... if someone runs at you with a knife, and you smack their tendons at their elbow, and push their arm back, running them through with the knife... I figure they're fair game, as long as you don't go out of your way to kill them >_<
