Okay, I'm sure you guys have seen this, as I have many times...Advertising sites/services/ect. in members signatures.

I think there should be a regulation on the size of the banners or images used to advertise these things.

obviously some sites should be exempt ("personal" websites, deviantart pages, ect) but, to my knowledge, neocodex is getting none of any profits earned from these websites being advertised in sigs. I'm not saying ban advertising in sigs, just...moderate it, not sure how, but It's kind of obnoxious to read someones message then see a big huge advertisement in my face.

I don't know why people post like a huge picutre trying to get people to join and use their ref link. I mean just post the link URL and post your msg. Takes up less space.

People are allowed to advertise these forums/sites/whatever on Neocodex if its not about Neopets.

Ex) I open a forum called Oogla.com and its about Neopets, Im not allowed to advertise it on codex.

Ex 2) I open a forum called Oogla.com and its about MapleStory, Wow, And Lineage II, I am allowed to to advertise it here.

Ex 3) I open a forum called Oogla.com and its about MapleStory, Wow, And Neopets, Im not allowed to advertise it here. (I think your not, but it might be different like this : Neopets can't be the main game of the forum ex) The main game of Codex is Neopets)

Sorry if this is not what your asking for.

Oh and your signature/banner/whatever must be 350 x 350 ( I can't find the place where it tells you, but I think its that size) They are only allowed one picture in there sig (Unless they changed the rules)

Okay, forums are fine, everybody and their grandma has a forum nowadays. I'm talking about websites that sell a product, offer a service, expect you to pay in some way, whether in time (treasuretrooper) or money (selling cell phones, games, or running an online game)

I think that treasure trooper advertisements should be allowed, but the banners have to go.

Actually any advertisement requires permission from admins. And it's not sites about neopets that can't be linked to, but neopet cheating sites that can't be posted under any circumstances. Legit sites are fine.

I think that a lot of this stuff is overlooked and permission hasn't be granted to put advertising in their sigs, and I think it's a bit rude really.

I also think the excessively large sigs need to be cut. If it fills more than half my screen, then it's too big

If that's the case, all the better imho. (and if anyone was wondering...THIS is what drove me to post here http://www.neocodex....mp;#entry933077 .) Hint: look at the sig.

and Kitsune, do you mean how wide, or the length of the signature? If it's the length of it, I completely agree. I don't want to diddle my scroll wheel 3 or more times just to get past a damn sig

And right! I'm cutting all sigs I see that fill up more than half my screen size. I will PM the people first to ask them to remove what they want (rather than what*I* want to remove) and they'll have a couple days before I cut it myself.

Please tell me (by PM or through here) if you see someone with an excessively large sig or smeone who is advertising. In terms of advertising, I'll find out from the person if they've got permission, but I can't go searching everyone so I need your help.
