.... What the hell does that have to do with anything I said? The headlights I suppose? Yes. If the entire world all turned on their headlights it will make everything better, and give the families comfort. Duh.

That's not even what the f.uck I said. People show respect in different ways. I've never went to a ceremony. I show my respect in different ways. It gives people comfort to show their respect. Maybe some people think turning their headlights on like you do at a funeral is showing respect. Maybe not to you, but to them.

I guess if this topic has been good for anything it has identified who Codex's major assholes are.

Anyway, I was in Gym class bowling (yes, my school offered bowling for Gym class) and they had it on the TV at the alley. When we got back to school people were talking about how the pentagon was hit, and we all pretty much just watched TV and refreshed CNN.com for updates all day. That's about it.

3000 civilians died in that attack. now think about how many more civilians have died following Bush's so-called War on Terror
and tell me if it was worth it.

just going to correct you there... unless youa re referring tot he "civillians" that died in Iraq you are soo wrong there... people who go to fight for our country aren't infact civillians... They are military personal, who choose to serve their nation, and are well aware of the fact that they might any day be sent off on a 15 month tour overseas.. anyways...

yeah.. 6 years ago... man wut a long time this was.. i was in wut.... like 5th grade i think... i don't relaly remember...i remember how we were already well into our school day when some staff member came in, with a terrified look on her face and whispered something into our teacher's ear, and walked out.. and then you could just tell something was VERY VERY VERY wrong... our teacher looked like all life was sucked out of her, and then moments later, my mom camwe and got me out of school... i got home just in time to see the first tower collapse.... sat there and watched the news for the rest of the day.... it was also quite terryfying since 2 that time i lived with my parents on McDill AFB, Tampa Fl... as some of you might know, that's where Central Command is loacated... this was/is one of the main stuctures where top militarty officials geather to plan and execute thier plans regarding middle east. so if we all thought that if the terrorists were going to strike anything else in the US, that building would be the one..... also the base was on a full lockdown (no one gets in or out) for a whole 3-4 days i believe it was.. so that kinda sucked... also during thouse 3-4 days, some idiot decided to fly a plane into one of the skyscrapers located in downtown Tampa Bay..... and that scared the everyone. Thank god it was a only a small 2 person plane... and almost no structural damage was done..... and only the pilot died.... anything we might need to open a debate topic for this??? i'm kinda curious to see what people haev to say sept 11th 2001... and all of thouse conspiracy theorys...

That speech is more heartfelt than anything by Bush, Gore, Clinton, or anyone else in the public light from the last 15 years. I have to thank Lindsay (casilla) for pointing it out to me, as I'd never seen it before. My house doesn't receive Comedy Central on our satellite. I feel more calm and reassured by Jon Stewart, a comedian and talk show host, than I do by my pastor or my president.

My God... that is one of the most amazing things I have ever seen. So sincere for a comedy show to do that kind of tribute, that kind of heartfelt sobbing... I never knew. Thanks for sharing. Seriously.

I had eight years, and I remember that I was watching a cartoon, when the TV suddenly changed to two towers and a lot of smoke, and than I said "Hum...Why did they stop my cartoon? I want to see it!" But I watched the two towers for about one hour before me mom get at home and say "What! The World Trade Center!? Why no one told me?" And than she got sad and I was just looking...That's all I remember on that day,I had no idea that it was a important building =/

But anyway...This was, in fact, a pretty sad thing that happened, not only to states, but for everyone, there were people from a lot of other countries there... And also, the price of dollar increased a lot tongue.gif it was each two reals=one dollar, and suddenly became each 3 reals=1 dollar... that stopped me from traveling for a huge time, but now it's back to normal, sometimes 1,96 reals=1 dollar

Man...as barked up as it was, I want to stop all of the greedy people. Don't know if anyone is a Moore fan here, but when he made that documentary, I wanted to hunt him down and beat the crap out of him. Yes, Bush is a moron. I don't care, we all know it. But for Christ's sakes, WAIT before doing something like that. Were we making fun of Kennedy's body guards after he was shot? No.

But, I digress. Money making that involves guilt tripping is TERRIBLE. I went to see United 93, and bawled through the whole thing. It was terrible. I wished to have never seen it, but I still felt a little pride that they managed to stop that plane. I think we need to start an organization that moderates other organizations: If they are keeping anymore than the EXACT amount needed to spread the word about their organization from donations, then they get shut down and all of their earned money is then given to the people they promised to help. This organization is a pipedream, of course, but man it would rule...

I'm from england, I put that on expecting it to be a minute or 2 long...and I just sat and listened to every word. One thing I've always respected americans for is their passion for their own country.

I'd never seen Jon Stewart before, but I appreciate his attitude, his optimism and his choice to talk about it, even in a comedic show.
    Thanks for sharing.

You know? I have a belief that all great civilizations come to an end eventually. I have studied many of them and all made one common mistake. They forgot.

Seriously you can let stuff go, but to forget is to ask for our own downfall. I mean if we forget that this event ever occurred and go back to the way stuff was before the attacks, guess what? It opens the door for another event, another attack, another tradgey.

There is a major major difference in letting go and forgetting. Letting go you can always remember how to correct it. Forgetting, do I even need to go there?

All I asked is that we remember that day. What could have been done, what should have been done, and what will be done in the future all depends on it. Seriously your children will ask about this day if and when you ever have any. They will want to know what happed to 3000 innocent lives. Are you going to look them in the face and tell them "i don't remember"?

So thanks for "letting go" I'm not asking for this thread to be a "letting go" thread. I am asking that you remember. So thanks guys for listening...

If the "letting go" bashing continues, please for my sake some close this and delet the entire thing...
