What is going on with today's youth?
When my friends and I were younger, when we were suspended, it was like a mini vacation.
What fourteen year old high student has access to guns, and let alone what parent gives them that ability to get at them?
Kids today have no sense of consequences.

Great point. Most people tend to over look the person with a gun made a choice.

Yes but why does that person have a gun? And why does he not know better than that? Is it parents, peers, society, socieconomic status, mental problems? It's parents in my opinion. I'm just speculating of course, but how many people with loving, supportive, educational parents have you heard of ever going on a shooting rampage?

Of course it's entirely possible that this kid was living with his Mom who was working 2 minimum wage jobs, and who loved him very much. I'm just spewing thoughts here

My father was a vietnam vet, owned 2 AK-47S, 3 12g Shot Guns, an UZI, A revolver, And a Glock. He told me stories of how he killed people in Vietnam. He used to force me to punch a bag with rocks in it till my hands became solid. He taught me how to fight. I hated my dad. Yet, I didn't go on a shooting rampage. I had a lot of enemies in school, and I never once thought about shooting them. I believe it's you as an individual in life, you are incharge of developing your own personal views.

And those are just my views.

I personally think the biggest problem is kids are raising themselves too much these days. Too many parents have to work 2 jobs just to get by so the kids are lacking that quality patenting time, which they really need at the early stages of their lives. Most kids are babysat by their tv's even when their parents are home since they are usually too tired from working all day.

Why did you hate your dad if you don't mind me asking? Don't you think that the stories your dad told you, the things he made you do, what he was, affected your personal views? So you wouldn't be in complete charge of developing them if he did affect you, and it's pretty inevitable that he did. Bad qualities of parents can have a positive effect too. For example, my mom is a heavy smoker. For that very reason, I will never smoke (cigarettes).

I hear Jelly Hands is becoming a more frequent issue in modern society.
It's a good thing your father is such a visionary, to save you from such a terrible fate.

How come americans don't realize that their availability of guns is so bad that any 14 year old can get them??

you never hear about this stuff in Canada... because no one has guns.

no guns = no elementary school shootings. dry.gif

maybe the environment he grew up in wasn't great. but the parent's aren't always to blame for that. it isn't necessarily their fault tho

Punch a bag with rocks in it?
My knuckes + fists are solid enough, as in there's NO cushion between the bones and the skin... is that what you mean by solid?
And your dad sounds like a good father.

That kid is stupid. If he is going to try and pull of a school shooting and get famous for it, he would have atleast had to kill somebody! He didn't even kill one person.

    ^-- Sarcasm.

Kid is wrong. Anybody who kills themselves and shoots people has problems. May I be the first to say, "Good riddance."?

Oh yeah dad was a great father. haha, I lost a fight when I was like 13 once and instead of yelling at me for fighting in the first place, dad got mad and said I didn't hit him hard enough, so as punishment, dad set up a punching bag in the basement with broken cinder blocks and sand in it, and said if I wanted to fight, I was supposed to win. Yeah he was a great dad. Anyway, that wasn't the point in bringing that up, it was the fact that, it isn't how your parents raise you, it's what morals you yourself believe in.

Your morals are built by your parents and environment...

And wtf kind of meatball dad did YOU want? Your dad SHOULDN'T get mad at you for fighting, unless you started it dry.gif

I don't agree with your morals being built by your parents, although I will agree with the environment.
I didn't mean I wanted him to get mad at me for fighting, I just didn't think it was good to get mad at me for losing. Shit happens, you lose a fight, the world goes on. Dad didn't view it like that. Regardless, my father being a dousche bag isn't the topic of conversation, I was just using it as an example. This generation is losing it's grip, look at past generations, I gurantee your grandfather went through hell as a child. They were raised, if someone pisses you off, you either ignore them, or you fight them. You don't go around shooting everyone just cause you're pissed off at a few people.

We need a good war to get people sorted out, we had one in 1914, and one in 1938 (well for the countries who bothered to turn up then anyway), so we're overdue a world war to get people fighting a common enemy (Quebec maybe?) rather than each other.

Greta idea, nothing like a nuclear war to stop a few people getting shot in school.

From the fact he sho people in school, im assuming its more the people at schools fault rather than parents.
