That sucks. I wouldn't blame the parents, though. The parents can only point their kids in the right direction, they can't control the decisions they make. To say that it's the parents fault is silly.

I hear Jelly Hands is becoming a more frequent issue in modern society.
It's a good thing your father is such a visionary, to save you from such a terrible fate.

Its good to know that sarcasm is making a comeback as the national sport of England.

Indeed, though that particular comment would have struggled at even under-18s level tongue.gif

That kid is stupid. If he is going to try and pull of a school shooting and get famous for it, he would have atleast had to kill somebody! He didn't even kill one person.

    ^-- Sarcasm.

Kid is wrong. Anybody who kills themselves and shoots people has problems. May I be the first to say, "Good riddance."?

if i was crazy enough to shoot up a school i'd make sure i break records in doing so, who wants to die/death penalty/prison for life for a couple murders (or in this case none). this kid was obviously just shooting people at random since he hit some random teachers and students, so why fail so hard at it?

Sure he may have had a gun, but where do you think he got them from? It wasn't necessarily his parents. It could've been a number of sources. Don't just presume it was his parents.

Why did they have to say he was dressed in black!!?!? I think the government is trying to make people think that people that wear black are going to shoot people, via media....

I hate the U.S.'s government. I think they should be overthrown and replaced with people that respect the Constitution.

Yah, finally, another national event in my neck of the woods.

Seriously, it isn't nearly as bad as anything else that has happened school shooting-wise. The kid was a hot head, it could be a mix of any number of things, not just parents.

My school was one of the few schools that actually wasn't dismissed early because of the events. Today we had four or so policemen roaming the halls though.

We need a good war to get people sorted out, we had one in 1914, and one in 1938 (well for the countries who bothered to turn up then anyway), so we're overdue a world war to get people fighting a common enemy (Quebec maybe?) rather than each other.

I sort of agree. But a good war for a good purpose if that makes sense xD Short of the human casualties, World Wars have always had a positive effect in the long run haven't they?
And it annoys me how some of you clearly did not read the whole topic before further saying something about parents.

maybe the environment he grew up in wasn't great. but the parent's aren't always to blame for that. it isn't necessarily their fault tho

Yes but why does that person have a gun? And why does he not know better than that? Is it parents, peers, society, socieconomic status, mental problems? It's parents in my opinion. I'm just speculating of course, but how many people with loving, supportive, educational parents have you heard of ever going on a shooting rampage?

Of course it's entirely possible that this kid was living with his Mom who was working 2 minimum wage jobs, and who loved him very much. I'm just spewing thoughts here

How come americans don't realize that their availability of guns is so bad that any 14 year old can get them??

you never hear about this stuff in Canada... because no one has guns.

no guns = no elementary school shootings. dry.gif

...EVERYONE HAS GUNS! I am willing to bet there is more guns than people in this country.

Are kids constantly trying to one up eachother or something? School shootings seem like the norm lately.

And a good war might get America out of this economic problem which it's in right now. tongue.gif

The same thing happened just before WWII as well, coincidence? wink.gif

This is really sad to hear about yet another shooting, whats more scarier is that Australia is said to be only 10 years behind the US. Really whats the world coming to ? People are starting to feel unsafe about going to school not just because of harassment but because they are afraid they will be shot.
