Because 90% of most religions actually DO teach intolerance? And the Catholic Church (waaaaay back in the old days) never told people "fighting for a war in the name of God gets you a ticket to Heaven"?

Anyone who believes their religion is tolerant needs to read the "good" book, because it probably isn't. In fact, doesn't it say something about women should be "obedient" towards the man who "owns" them? You don't still view women as property do you?

To stay on topic: It's about barking time. Jesus hell. These are some of the most corrupt, ass backwards Christians around today.

Please...give me an example about how me and my religion are intolerant? I'm Lutheran btw, so all the Catholic bashing you do actually makes me feel better since our church broke off of their's 500 years ago because they had it wrong.

Homosexuality is a sin by your book correct? One of the most basic examples of intolerance.

I do indeed believe it to be a sin. That, however; doesn't lead me to treat homosexuals any differently. Everyone has their own choices to make. What they do doesn't affect me, despite my beliefs. I'm pretty sure intolerance requires some action lacking tolerance.

"Intolerance is the lack of ability or willingness to tolerate something.
    en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intolerance"

I happily tolerate homosexuals and have some as friends. I don't by any means hate them for what they're doing. Atheism is obviously a sin in my book as well but that doesn't mean I hate atheists.

    Try again?

Thinking that what a person does in the privacy of their own homes is a sin is specifically intolerance. The fact that a homosexual can not make it into heaven JUST because they enjoy sex with the same sex, IS INTOLERANCE. It is the definition of it. No matter what that person does in his/her life, no matter the countless lives they may save, they are singled out by Christianity as sinners.

Homosexuality can also be labeled under blasphemy because it is against the word of God, and intentionally so. Homosexuals KNOW they are going against Christ's preachings, and are therefor making it publicly known they are NOT following his teachings or God's word. Going against the will of God intentionally is pure blasphemy. Therefore your entire religion and others you sprouted from, and sprout forth from you, are very intolerant of homosexuals.

obviously "For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged. and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again." has no meaning to these freaks.

And no i am not Christan in any stretch of the imagination, I have read the bible from cover to cover just to oust out the only defense that these freaks have: "well how do you know thats not god's will? have you read the whole bible cover to cover?" I can truthfully say yes, yes I have.

considering it a sin doesn't necessarily make you intolerant. christians consider murder a sin, does that make us intolerant of murderers, rapists, and the such? and if you dislike them, then that makes YOU intolerant as well.

considering it a sin merely means that we choose not to do it. i choose not to stick my finger up my ass, but i'm not intolerant of people that want to do it to themselves.

    I heart e-mail auto-notification:

Cataliste: You're probably the most intolerant person I've seen on the boards. You're the one who has to put things into your sigs making fun of religion. Do you see religious people making fun of atheism? You are practicing intolerance because your actions show your intolerance. Mine don't...I afford homosexuals the same opportunities as anyone else.

I'm, atheist. You are Christian. Do not make personal slants at me in response to my slants against religion. And yes, I often hear theist mocking atheist. Also, I never said I was tolerant? Ever?

And I am not totally intolerant. I tolerate people who tolerate me. Intolerant of me, I am intolerant of you. Easy as pie to understand.

I won;t be posting in this topic anymore as I can only contribute off-topic.

Back to the topic, what kind of lame thing is this...no I not talking about the Church, I'm talking about the dam article. I find it lame on how people can get so much money with bs like these, I wish I can get bunch of money just because one person insult me -_-

wink.gif You obviously don't know about what's going on with the westboro baptist church people... If you do, you're a barked up child. And your mother hates you.

Seriously, if someone I knew died in Iraq, and any shit like this happened, I would not be upset if I "accidentally" hit the gas instead of the brake into a crowd of protesters... I might even pop it into reverse and go back over anyone who fell.

I'd definitely put some of them in the hospital dry.gif

You would have to be a moron to believe the war has even a tiny little thing to do with homosexuality. Everybody should tolerate homosexuals, even if it is a disgusting image to them. Being tolerant to homosexuals is a thing everybody should do, because if otherwise, you would be considered prejudice. And nobody should want to be prejudice. As explained by an episode in

South Park, you should tolerate homosexuality, but you don't have to agree with it and you don't have to like it, but you should put up with it. It's sickening and repulsive to think that hundreds of people are being killed and tortured just because a bunch of guys want to bark other guys in the ass. God doesn't hate gay people. God created them. God made them that way. And as a result, god accepts them. God loves them because god loves everybody ...or is that jesus ...I don't know, but whatever. I'm religious in a completely abnormal way, but I know about other religions very well. It's just so sickening. Sorry if I exaggerated a bit.

    blink.gif

I've said it before and I'll say it again, if someone did that at my friends/families funeral, they'd be beat down... I can't stand shitbags like them dry.gif

Thinking homosexuality is sinful doesn't mean your intolerant. It's just an indocrtinated definition of tolerance most people wear. If you don't like it, good. You have every right to disagree with it, as long as you aren't intentionally harming others to prove your point. Thats why I enjoyed the old religious right. They didn't like gays, but they really didn't like government, so the focus wasn't on homosexuality or abortion, or any of the issues that theyve taken some uber stance on nowadays.

    QUOTE(Kitsune @ Nov 1 2007, 07:28 PM) View Post
No matter how they died, any protests at a funeral should be banned by law. Even if the person is the nastiest person around, killed hundreds of people, just don't protest at the funeral. Do it elsewhere but not there.

It shouldnt be a problem, really. If somebody owns a graveyard and a family in mourning has paid said graveyard to bury their loved one, there shouldn't be protestors, period. Unless the family gives the OK, these dumbasses should go away.

Actually, it is intolerant to a degree. Not to butt into this extremely negative conversation...but finding something sinful is a little intolerant.

One: Saying 'well, murder is a sin but we aren't considered intolerant for thinking that' doesn't make what you are saying any better. It's merely dodging around it to try and play guilt. It's not changing the fact that you are putting homosexuality, an act of love between two people, and murder, the act of slaughtering another human being, on the same level.

Two: Sins put you in hell. Nothing can be more intolerant than thinking that God will torture a guy forever because he was gay (I.E, homosexuality is a sin).

Three: Okay, going back to numero one. Homosexuality is a sin...so where does that put you, if you are fine with it? Would God be okay with you not caring if someone is gay or not, and if so, why the hell does everyone care so much? Furthermore, if God don't mind you being fine with gayness, then what does that say for the people that don't care about murder or rape?

I think God's got a smutty mind to be so desperate to peek into the bedroom enough to decide that the gay people he made were disgusting enough to be tortured forever.
